My own wedding - six months ago - which was the most amazing day of my life but did take a lot of planning beforehand. We hired a village hall and I made a three-tiered wedding cake, along with 150 favours (little bags of rosemary and lemon shortbread) and a range of cakes for a cake table. It's fair to say cake was a central theme and we certainly had a lot to go around!
Romantic, floral, rustic, delicious, modern
Seeing the bride and groom eating (and enjoying!) the cake I've baked.
No one will notice the things that go wrong (and nothing will go wrong!). Enjoy the planning :)
Not to blow my own trumpet but...I baked little bags of shortbread in different flavours for favours at our wedding which went down really well.
At first we'll exchange emails to make sure we're both the right fit, then we'll arrange a meeting in person. If we both agree to go forward we'll book in a cake tasting to decide upon flavours, toppings and decorations.
Carrot cake with cinnamon-flavoured cream cheese frosting.
I had to make a red velvet cake with jet black icing which is the most unusual creation I've had to bake.
I've been baking for as long as I can remember and made my first wedding cake four years ago for a friend. Since then friends of friends have asked me to bake their wedding cakes and it's really gone from there.
A bottom tier of fruity carrot cake with a lightly spiced cinnamon cream cheese icing, a middle layer of lemon and almond drizzle sponge and a top layer of traditional victoria sponge with a vanilla buttercream and fresh seasonal berries and flowers.
