All your life you’ve been dreaming of a big, traditional wedding, and it’s what your family are expecting. But now you’re in the midst of the planning you find yourself being drawn towards a more relaxed, natural feel.
The traditional luxury aesthetic but with the warmth and personality of something less “copy and paste“
Then you find me, and realise that whether you want a tiered cake that has subtle nods to your interests included; or maybe you’re more a cheese person than cake; or you need to cater to dietary restrictions within your cake…and you realise that I will happily say YES to all of this, and more
I absolutely loved seeing family and friends coming together to decorate the local village hall, including seasonal flowers from their gardens, and a pot luck style feast.
The warmth and love of families coming together that filled the room was incredible
Remember that above all else, this is a celebration of your love, and another step in your relationship with each other. Focus on what is important and what makes the two of you happy, not necessarily what looks good on social media.
Any small part that reflects their unique heritage - whether it’s a traditional arrangement to bring them health, wealth and happiness; using granny’s veil or jewellery; or remembering those no longer here, but important to the couple, with a table of photos.
Couples usually contact me 12-18 months before their wedding. We have a chat about their day and what sort of cake they’d like and I take time to answer as many questions as they have in order to provide a bespoke price estimate. They secure the date with a deposit, and then we book in their design consultation. Usually 6-9 months before the wedding, but I keep this timescale flexible especially if the couple is travelling to Cornwall for their wedding.
At this meeting we discuss every element of their cake, from the flavours, dietary restrictions, and design, to how it will be displayed and how it fits in to their day.
I’ll liaise with your venue, florist, and any other supplier I need to, to ensure the delivery and set up on your wedding day goes smoothly, leaving you to relax and enjoy both the lead up to your day, and the day itself
