What is your most memorable wedding?
The most memorable weddings for me are the ones where we all have a good laugh on the morning of the wedding. Which is most of them I have to say. It definitely helps to calm the nerves beforehand.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Vintage, Boho, Natural, Colourful (that's more me, don't panic) Effortless
What about your business are you most proud of?
I really do love to go above and beyond for my brides to ensure their wedding morning goes smoothly. I once followed the wedding car to the church just so I could make sure the brides veil was just right for her on a windy day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Over-estimate how long it takes to do things. Delegate as much as possible and trust people to do the job well, otherwise you feel like a planner not a bride on your wedding day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Anything that is personal to the couple and shows of their personalities, I love.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Let's chat first over zoom or via a call, to see if we would like working with each other and discuss some initial ideas. Once the wedding day is booked, the rehearsal takes place approximately 4-8 weeks before the day. The rehearsal is an event in itself, the bride along with up to three guests come along to my Elegant Edwardian-inspired home beauty studio for a relaxing vintage cream tea experience. A schedule for the wedding day and all hair and makeup looks are agreed upon during the rehearsal so the wedding day goes off without a hitch (apart from the couple getting hitched of course) As a rough estimate each person takes an hour for their hair and makeup on the wedding day.
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing a happy, calm and glowing bride ready to walk down the aisle or get into her car.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Don't forget to drink plenty of water the day before and on the morning of the wedding. You'll only forget later and dehydration makes skin look tired and dull.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I keep the atmosphere light and fun, plus we will have prepared the mornings' schedule in advance, so we know we won't be late. Plus my Fairy Godmother services means I can solve most problems that might arise.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
If possible drink water between the glasses of fizz to stay looking and feeling fresh and energised. Be careful when hugging guests that their hats and fascinators don't snag on your hair, and air kiss if necessary to ensure no lipstick marks on your cheeks.
