What is your most memorable wedding?
Truthfully, out of all the weddings I have been too - the ones that stand out the most were small and personal. These are the ones I remember from the relaxed Wedding preparations to enjoying people's company. My heart warms with the sound of laughter and engaging conversations. This type of wedding to me is more about love and friendship than showmanship.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Classic, Artistic, Creative & Romantic
What about your business are you most proud of?
I think I would have to say seeing my Bridal work in print for the first time was an amazing feeling. I’m also proud of myself for managing my Hair & Makeup Career, life and all of the pros and cons that come with it! I really love it when I make people feel good. After I have finished working on them and they look in the mirror and are suddenly filled with confidence – it’s amazing to see. I do also love it when I work with a team I know well and we get amazing results for the Bride & her Bridal Partie, so everyone is happy all round!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Everyone will tell you that the day flies by, and it totally does. Make sure to carve out time to really connect with your new husband/wife throughout the day and night, even if it means building it into your itinerary. Take a few minutes to be by yourselves right after the ceremony, it’s a moment in the day that will fell like it was truly just yours. It’s so easy to be pulled in different directions throughout the day by friends, family, and vendors needing your attention, so be intentional about spending your night together.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I like how comforted a bride can be when having with her a picture of loved ones (that cant be with there on her special day) attached to the ribbons of her bouquet.. its a beautiful way of feeling close to those that are no longer with us.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Firstly I meet with the Bride for her Hair & makeup Trials, playing with ideas given to me by the Bride to gain a greater understanding of her requirements and general wedding vibe. I join the Bride at her venue/home on her wedding morning to implement her chosen styles (tweaking according to trial findings) for her and her Bridal Partie.
What do you love most about your job?
I'm extremely passionate about helping others look their best. As a Hair & Makeup Artist I have the opportunity to help Brides & clients achieve their beauty goals. Whether they want to enhance their natural beauty or improve on an imperfection, I love revelling in the transformation process watching the confidence with their new look blossom.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Apply more blusher than you may usually wear. To avoid looking washed out in the wedding photos and against a white dress, build a little extra colour on your cheeks to ensure a healthy, radiant complexion – every inch the blushing bride.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
For most brides, one of the most enjoyable parts of the wedding morning is getting pampered with your bridal party. It’s a time to bond and enjoy each other’s company as well as a bit of pampering! Booking a professional hair and makeup artist, and ensuring you schedule plenty of time for them to do their work. This will allow you to relax and really enjoy the experience, as well as looking your radiant best!
