What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Try and talk to your suppliers on the phone or FaceTime. Perhaps try and meet them at wedding fairs. Your venue can also be a great source for reliable and excellent professionals
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love seeing a mix of tradition and making it YOUR wedding with very personal touches. I think the toy dinosaurs 🦖 on the brides heels was my favourite ever!! I have a photo somewhere!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After securing your wedding date with me we can arrange a trial. This can be done whenever you like but is a good idea to makeup this for a time when you have other things in place. At the trial I will keep working till you are 100% delighted. My trials are done at my home studio/conservatory which has superb natural daylight. ( essential!) I take it step by step altering as needed so it becomes a work of art between us. Your personal preferences and my skills and superb makeup kit!
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing the confidence bloom and the huge smiles of delight when brides and their bride team, see their beautifully applied makeup.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Look after your skin.
I will take you through various ways to help your skin in a practical and effective way.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I’m a calming influence on the wedding day. I’ve worked on so many weddings nothing fazes me. See me as more than your MUA… a PA too! I often get involved in other jobs like looking after babies, doing up dresses, helping find things, taking bridesmaids to the church/venue and I famously even once donated my bra to a bridesmaid!
I also make sure there is more than enough time for everyone to be finished with no rushing and so other suppliers can do their jobs in good time too.
Quite often all that is needed is an empathic hug.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
A little powder compact or blotting sheets. Your lip colour to touch up. Also if there are tears don’t scrunch a tissue up and blot madly. Use the flat edge of a tissue and the corners to carefully absorb the tears and therefore keeping your makeup looking wonderful! Tears are normal.
