What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Plan plan plan, hire experienced suppliers who know what they are doing. The right supplier will take some of the pressure off you on the day of your wedding and ensure that your time is spent relaxing and enjoying the day and not worrying about the the time or details for the day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
A woman’s wedding day is one of the most important days of her life. There are many reasons why I feel you should treat yourself to a Professional Hair and Make-up Artist on your special day. Perhaps the most important reason is to allow yourself to put your feet up, relax, be pampered and enjoy your wedding morning with your bridal party safe in the knowledge that you are going to look and feel your absolute best, and that your hair and make-up will last the day.
Included in my Bridal Hair and Make-up service is a consultation session during which we will have a chat about the look you would like to achieve on the day. I will give you advice on which styles would suit you best analysing your hair, skin tone, eye colour, shape, natural style, personality and of course match the whole look perfectly with ‘the dress’. I include in the consultation session advice on your hair and skin type and how to get the best hair and skin possible for your wedding day. Once we have taken all of this into consideration we can move into the trial, this is where we will create a look that is personal and unique to you and will give you the confidence to shine on your wedding day.
What do you love most about your job?
I am fascinated by Hair and Make-up Artistry, it is so creative and has the ability to completely transform the person you are working with. From my first days training onwards I have been completely hooked! I started off working in TV and fashion, however progressed to specialise in Bridal Hair and Make-up, this is the area I am most passionate about. I get a real buzz out of making women look and feel beautiful and always feel very privileged when someone selects me to be a part of their special day. I love working with a bride from the initial consultation, through to creating a look that is unique and individual to her, and will make her feel confident and beautiful on one of the most important days of her life.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Start taking care of your skin way ahead of the wedding day, get a good skin care regime in place, it will really pay off come the wedding day. This is something that I advise on during the trial so that brides can get the best results possible on the day meaning they will look and feel their absolute best and be camera ready.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I have been told by many brides that I am a calming influence on what can be a stressful morning. I hope this is true, I really see my role on the morning of the wedding as an important one, I like to put together a detailed schedule for the morning so that everything runs to time and there is also spare time should we need it for any unexpected occurrences.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
This is something that I would talk through with my brides at the trial, however it's important to have a make-up touch up kit ready. The make-up that I do last's the day, but often might need to odd touch up in terms of lips and cheeks. I always supply a lip colour as part of the price for my brides and I get discounts with many brands so am always happy to pass these on to my brides and order any essential items that I think the bride might need for the day.
