The most memorable wedding would have to be when I had to put a taxidermy mouse on a fascinator in one of the bridesmaid’s hair! It was definitely a first, that’s for sure.
Textured, smooth, elegant, classic, chic.
I’m most proud of achieving a portfolio that has given me so many lovely comments and thank you messages that make my job so worthwhile.
My top tip to couples would be to get recommendations when planning your wedding, whether it’s via your venue or a friend. Word of mouth is the best.
My favourite personal touch is from one of my lovely brides a few years ago now. She lived in London and was getting married there too. She made roses for the bouquets and hair accessories out of A-Z maps of London which she then painted with a translucent gold paint to add some shimmer. They looked great when I saw them on the wedding day.
Once a bride gets in touch I like to arrange a no obligation phone call, so we can discuss all the details and I can explain how the process works. I can answer any questions they have and it gives us a chance to get to know each over. After all, whoever you book for your hair will be spending the morning with you, so you need to like them.
What I love most about my job is the satisfaction of making someone look and feel amazing! It’s heartwarming to receive so many lovely thank you cards with such great feedback.
My #1 beauty tip for a bride would be, follow your hairstylists prep instructions for your wedding morning as that could make a difference to timings on the day.
I try to stay cool and professional, especially if there is some kind of stressful situation going on.
I give my brides a little bottle of hairspray some emergency clips so they are fully prepared.
