What about your business are you most proud of?
Lucille & Co, formerly Harriet Lucille, was formerly set up in 2015. At the beginning it was just me offering services to Brides in Devon/Cornwall/Somerset. Over the years I have grown my team with artists based all over the country so that we can offer weddings across the UK and in worldwide destinations.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Never leave it too late! Although you think you may have lots of time left until your big day, when it comes to booking suppliers the earlier you secure your favourite supplier the better. Most couples want to ask around for quotes initially and then spend some time deliberating how they can make their budget work by which point their dream suppliers have already been booked up by someone else. Always go with your gut instinct. If you like a supplier secure as soon as you can!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
From the point of booking right up until the wedding day we are in contact with our brides a lot. We try to avoid the usual 'radio silence'! We send out enquiry forms to gain as much information as possible so that we can curate an accurate quote and once a deposit has been paid the booking is secure. Along the journey to the wedding day, we send our brides and their bridal party hints and tips on how to receive the most out of their services. We send out detailed consultation forms so we can get an understanding of who they are and how we can best help them to create their perfect look. On the wedding day although we are there as the Makeup & Hair team, are services don't just stop there. We help fasten buckles on shoes, tie up dresses, pin button holes, dry bouquets, open bottles of prosecco and more!
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the beaming smile on a brides face when she looks in the mirror for the first time, seeing her ultimate bridal look complete!
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Don't change everything you've done for years on the run up to the biggest day of your life! Most brides think they should change their skincare habits, makeup routines, diet and drinking habits on the weeks leading up to their wedding. Changing any of those things is fine providing its done early enough to allow your body, skin and hair to adapt to these changes.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
We do things a little differently here at Lucille & Co, and we recognise the excitement of your special day also comes with lack of sleep, stress and nerves so we like to kick off your morning bridal prep with a relaxing skin treatment.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Take note of the product lists we provide you with after your trial. All these products have been carefully chosen to best suit your skin type. Keeping things like lipstick and blotting paper on hand will ensure your look stays fabulous all day.
