What is your most memorable wedding?
Wow.... there's so many to choose from..... ! I think one of the most memorable was for my Best friends cousin. She's a few years younger than me and I've known her for 20 years and watched her grow into this beautiful, confident woman and it was such a pleasure to be her makeup artist. Because her wedding was in the Autumn I was able to play around with Autumnal colours such as plum, red and golds. Every bridesmaid had a different shade of lipstick truly suited to them which made their looks so much more interesting.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Timeless, Elegant, Luxurious, Modern, Natural
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my reviews, and the way that Brides tell me they feel after I've done their makeup. The Makeup look can be beautiful but helping them feel confident from the inside out is the best part of my job.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get the best Photographer your money can buy!! Seriously, don't skimp on this one. Your wedding photos will last a lifetime and you will want the best memories of your wonderful day. Having worked in the Wedding Industry, I have seen the standard of some photographers and they can truly create beautiful images. Get the best you can afford!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I love being a Wedding guest as well as being involved in them. One of the best personal touches I've seen was a table planner where every table 'number' was a copy of an album cover that meant something to the couple and the people on that table.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
With a bride, the first thing I will do is let them know that I am available on their date. I will then give them access to my client Portal where they can build their own bespoke quote. Once that's all confirmed, I will book in their trial (normally 6-8 months before the wedding). That's the really fun part!!
What do you love most about your job?
The reaction I get from Brides when they see themselves after the trial .... I still get Goosebumps to this day! Plus, wedding mornings are so much fun, I get involved and I'm there to help. I've even organised flower deliveries, done up dresses and held babies!
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Skin care is everything!!! Start a routine now if you don't have one already.
Also - get a professional Makeup Artist it's so much less stressful that trying to do it yourself. Trust me.... even I had one! Ha ha!
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I plan everything for my brides in terms of schedule e.g who I'll need and the times. I give myself plenty of time, so there is no rushing and wedding mornings can be unpredictable. I dedicate their makeup time to them alone and we have some music on to keep the atmosphere light. I've been a bride myself so I know exactly how it feels. I'm naturally a calm influence and I'm there to help and support in anyway I can.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
A smiling bride is a beautiful bride. Enjoy the day! :)
