Wedding Day
Many brides have a vision of how their wedding day should be and have dreamt about their 'big day' since they were a little girl.
As we grow older we gain an understanding of why weddings are so special, you marry your soul mate, you're surrounded by the most important friends and family that want to celebrate with you, it's the start of a new journey and the bride gets to spend the day being pampered and wearing a gorgeous gown.
Therefore, it is so important to ensure the service received is bespoke to you, which is why Makeup by Lauren Harvey creates a bespoke service for every bride she meets.
Makeup trial
It's very important for the bride to have a makeup trial to ensure she is 100% happy with the look created. I recommended the trial makeup is booked in for 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding day, however should you prefer to have the trial earlier, then this can be arranged. Makeup trials usually take around 1-2 hours depending on the party size, bridesmaids and mother of the bride/groom are also welcome to book.
Wedding day Makeup
On the day of your wedding, I will arrive at your specified location at the time agreed prior to the 'big day'. I will start with the bridesmaids, mother of the bride/grooms makeup whilst the bride is having her hair styled. Once the brides hair is styled I will then focus on her makeup. I usually allow 45 minutes per bridesmaids and for the mother of the bride/groom, and between 60-75 minutes for the brides makeup.
Special Occasion Makeup
Why not treat yourself to have your makeup done professionally for your special event. Whether it's a birthday, prom, Christmas party or another special occasion, book in and be pampered. We will discuss your desired look prior to the date booked.
Special FX Makeup
Halloween in the UK is becoming very popular, so why not follow the trend and go out with the intention to scare! With some experience of special FX makeup and body paint I can create various looks. Contact me for details.

What is your most memorable wedding?
It has to be a wedding based in Colchester, a bridal party of 5. The venue was simply stunning and the bridal party were so calming to the bride and extremely happy with the outcome of their makeover.

What about your business are you most proud of?
I think I am most proud of setting up and managing a business on my own. The job satisfaction I receive after completing a bridal parties makeup makes me love my job even more every day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Take each day as it comes, enjoy every moment of the planning process and try not to get stressed.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When I receive an inquiry, I will first check the date to ensure I am free. I will then liaise with the bride to find out information of what services she would require. I would then arrange a suitable date for a trial makeup and send her a booking confirmation form to complete. On the day of the trial I will meet with the bride and bridesmaids to find out what look they are interested in. After a successful trial we will then finalise details of the 'big day' and I will check in with her a week before the wedding to ensure all details remain the same. The bride will have my personal phone number to call should she need to discuss or change any requirements.
What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely love seeing a wedding day come together, arriving in the morning when the bridal party have just awoken, seeing the venue and hair being prepped and creating the desired looks on my clients. I love the confidence women feel when they have their makeup done.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Ensuring the bride drinks enough water prior to the day to keep the skin hydrated.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
Simply by talking to her, taking her mind off the stress that the wedding day can bring and taking all the time the bride needs to make her feel more relaxed.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
I would always recommend taking a time out for the newly married couple to just relax and enjoy their special day. I also recommend that bridesmaids always have a bottle of water on hand for the bride to ensure she keeps hydrated throughout the day. There are also re-vitalizing spray mists which give the skin a boost of hydration and vitamins, these are good for a quick fix.
