What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
So many brides miss out on their preferred suppliers because they think it's too early to book. Hair and makeup artists do book up to a couple of years in advance, so don't leave it too late.
What do you love most about your job?
When the bride finally sees everything come together, the dress, her hair, her makeup. It's that moment that makes me thankful that I get to call this a job.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Look after your skin. The foundation for good makeup is good skin. Start a good skin care regime around 6 months before the wedding for the real benefits. Do not start using new products within two weeks of the wedding because you do not want to risk having a reaction.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
It's an important part of my job to help the bride feel pampered, calm and relaxed. I usually position my chair away from the hustle and bustle, in a separate room where possible. My chair is a place of Zen, where you can collect your thoughts and chill out.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Your wedding day will be emotional, you are allowed to cry. If you do, gently blot your tears away, do not wipe.
The techniques and products I use mean that your makeup should remain perfect all day, but just in case, I provide all of my brides with a little touch up kit so you can powder your nose and reapply your lipstick if required.
