One of my most memorable weddings was at a countryside estate where the bride had flown in from the US for an intimate UK ceremony with just ten guests. The morning was misty and calm, and she was noticeably nervous—worried about her skin, her curls staying in place, and if she’d feel “bridal enough.”

As I began her makeup, we chatted gently, easing her into the moment. With each brush stroke, I saw her confidence grow. When I finished and handed her the mirror, she went quiet for a long time—then started to cry. “I feel like me,” she said, “but somehow elevated. Like the version I always dreamed of.”

Her photographer later told me she’d never seen a bride so serene during portraits. And the bride herself messaged me weeks after the wedding to say that every time she looked at her photos, she could still feel the calm and confidence of that morning.

One of the most memorable personal touches I’ve seen was a couple who chose bouquets made entirely from lyric sheets of their special song. No florals, no filler. Just hand folded paper imprinted with the words that meant the most to them.

It was striking and deeply personal. It wasn’t just art, it was memory.

The delicate craftsmanship of the folded sheets gave the bouquets texture and depth, while the printed lyrics told a love story far richer than any arrangement of petals could. It was a moment that blurred tradition with meaning, and I’ve never forgotten how beautifully intentional it felt.

I arrive early, fully prepped, so the bride knows everything is under control. My setup is clean, organised and serene, no rushed brushes or chaotic vibes. I speak gently, check in often, and always give her space to breathe, reflect or have a quiet moment alone.

Bridal mornings are emotional, and I make it my mission to be the grounding force. Whether it’s adjusting the schedule slightly, offering a warm reminder to hydrate, or just being a friendly presence who knows how to read the room, I’m there to ease the pressure.

- 😌 Avoid touching your face: Hugs are welcome, but constant touching can disrupt your makeup’s finish.

- 🧘‍♀️ Stay calm and cool: Stress or heat can affect your skin, so breathe deep, step outside for a breeze if needed, and trust that everything’s flowing beautifully.
