What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was in Wales August 2022. It was my first in Wales and seeing the beautiful venue and grounds was breathtaking
I had created a great friendship with the bride over the year leading up to her wedding, with her becoming a regular client in salon, so to finally experience her big day with her is something I’ll cherish forever
I did the makeup of the bride, her 5 bridesmaids and a grooms woman, which was so calm yet exciting
The fairytale style wedding was featured in a magazine, which was also another first for me
The wedding was a LGBTQ+ wedding, which is a community I work alongside often, and has my full heart and support
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Pretty, feminine, soft, glamorous, conscious
What about your business are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of sticking to my beliefs and only using cruelty free and vegan makeup. This could put people off in the beginning, but I stuck with what I believed in and have built up a beautiful kit, with luxury products, the main being Charlotte Tilbury, I couldn’t have asked for better feedback from clients in regards to the products I use, a lot of thought and testing goes into my kit, so it means a lot for clients to love these products just as much as me
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Write a rough idea of an itinerary for the morning, who’s having what done and in what order
It will save a lot of time and let the bride enjoy her morning not having to delegate everybody
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I think it looks beautiful on photos when everyone is cohesive, so brides who gift bridesmaids a lipstick to perfectly suit their complexion, but also meshes well when photographed together, is a great personal touch
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I’m usually in touch with mainly the bride, maid of honour or mother of the bride
The process starts with contacting me with the information of the day, location, time and date, number of bridal party, which I follow with the price
The trial date is then booked, this can be for just the bride, or bride, at least one bridesmaid and mother of the bride
The following day from a trial I get in touch to discuss how the bride felt the makeup wore, lasted and photographed and if there’s any changes they wish to make
Any queries leading up to the wedding are always replied to, and contact the day before the wedding is made to confirm time etc
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the confidence grow within someone after they pick up that mirror and see how truly beautiful they are
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Hydration!! Lots and lots of water always, creates beautiful skin, and a fairly good consistent skincare routine, this is discussed during the trial
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I remain calm throughout, even if people are late, we’re getting short on time, whatever dilemma may occur,I remain relaxed and professional throughout, and everyone is finished to perfection
I also provide a full skin care and skin prep mini facial for everyone before makeup application, this not only ensures great application, but helps ease any stress or anxiety and helps everyone feel pampered
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Look after your skin leading up to the wedding, especially hydration, the better condition you’re skin is in, the better application, look and longevity you’ll get out of your makeup
