What is your most memorable wedding?
A wedding in Mexico where I made- up the entire bridal party in 35 degree heat & did touch-ups on the beach!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
This is a tough one as I adapt my style to the brides requirements to help her personality and style shine through, so generally speaking I like to create a classic bridal look which is timeless but most importantly, still looks like 'you', so I'd describe it as;
*Natural
*Enhancing
*Beautiful
*Radiant
*Romantic
What about your business are you most proud of?
My Awards from competing both Nationally and Internationally, representing Great Britain. I hold the trophy for 2nd place in the International Makeup Championships 2014, which was held in Germany where I competed against 15 other countries. I have also come 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the Art of Makeup championships, Olympia London in 2013, 2014 & 2015. I was a Finalist in the Midlands Fashion Awards make-up competition 2013.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Book your preferred supplier as soon as you've set the date to avoid disappointment! Makeup artists get booked up just as quickly as venues and other vendors so organisation & early booking is key.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A bulldog ring-bearer who'd had a collar made out of exotic flowers, made by the brides florist! Soooo cute!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Email correspondence or a chat on the phone to discuss the brides requirements. A personalised quote is then given and a deposit is taken to secure the wedding date once agreed. I then meet with the bride to do a consultation and trial the makeup, before arriving at an agreed venue/address and time on the big day ready to make her and her bridal party look and feel fabulous.
What do you love most about your job?
Everything! It's the best job in the world making somebody feel and look beautiful. The buzz I get from showing my brides their completed look in the mirror is second-to-none, and I couldn't imagine working in any other field. Bridal makeup is such a personal and intimate process and I am always so privileged to be booked to do a brides makeup.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Adopt a good skin care regimen as soon as possible on the lead up to the wedding day!! Drink lots of water, cleanse and exfoliate daily and keep hydrated. Makeup will only look as good as the canvas in which it is applied. Clear and healthy skin will ensure a flawless and long-lasting finish.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I've been told that I have a calming nature and a good sense of humour :) I am adaptable to most environments and I am very empathetic and caring. Being highly organised & prepared also makes for a calming ambiance.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
I provide the bride with a mini touch-up kit on the wedding day which includes a sample of her chosen lip colour to re-apply when necessary. I also recommend blotting sheets if the bride has an overly-oily complexion to help keep any shine at bay. The makeup is very durable although sometimes an individuals skin can have an effect on the makeup later on; but it will need minimal touch-ups.
