Hi my name is catherine youens and I am a professional makeup artist based in Swindon but I cover all south west of England reading ,bath ,Bristol Chippenham ,Swindon ect. I have specialised in both wedding and prom makeup for the last 20yrs. As a professional makeup artist I believe makeup should capture you at your most beautiful on your special day it should look very natural yet stunning. Let me show you the tricks of my trade so you can enjoy being pampered by a professional and know you will look your best. I offer one to one sessions as well as in groups of 3 or more. I also offer trial makeup,as well as makeup tuition and skin care advice as I am also trained in beauty. I use a variety of products to ensure beautiful results my favourites are max factor, Mac, Elizabeth Arden Estée Lauder and no7 these are exceptional brands that deliver. I can come to your home or your chosen venue and if you should need my assistance throughout I will be happy just let me know. It's my job to ensure everyone is looking great and feeling great and will help in every way I can. I hope your day is as special as mine was and I look forward to helping you achieve that.

What is your most memorable wedding?
Katherine and johns lain barn wedding in uffington photos of Katherine are on my website she looked absolutely stunning despite the rainy weather!! She and her bridesmaid Anne loved makeup so much.

What about your business are you most proud of?
The experience to help capture every one at their best as well as approachable calm manner and working to a time table to ensure everything goes as it should and the makeup looks beautiful yet natural.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Always plan well in advance but on the makeup front have a trial it will show how makeup will look and you can relax on the day and be pampered. I recommend trial 4/6 weeks before big day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
White doves and also piper playing I thinks that looks really nice
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I remember doing makeup job for a bride and her party, and the hairdresser cutting brides hair on day of the wedding unfortunately it was a disaster. The bride was distraught and inconsolable. Her mother approached me and asked my help I sat bride down and calmly told her all will be well she will look lovely. She listened to what I said and we did her makeup she looked absolutely beautiful and hugged me tightly her mother thanked me for taking the time to calm her daughter when no one else could as for the hair her aunt sorted it and I received so many compliments at her wedding as well as recommendations.
What do you love most about your job?
Being able to see the finished result and working with all kinds of products to achieve great results as well as meeting new brides and sharing my experience and tips with them.
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Always do your brows as defining them creates a polished and finished look to the makeup and you look great in the photos.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
Talk to her to help her relax it could be a comment on her beautiful dress or the style she wants I think laughter too is great as it creates empathy between you and she will feel at ease.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Keep makeup natural and don't try complicated looks avoid colours too dark and carry essentials such as perfume powder and lipstick for touch ups.
