Hello, I'm Ali and I specialise in bridal hair & makeup. I split my time between Bath & London, & trained in makeup for photographic work. After working as an artist with MAC cosmetics once I finished training, I assisted a bridal MUA and realised how much I love weddings! I've worked at hundreds now, and enjoy working with each bridal party to create hair & makeup to suit every individual wedding I am part of. I use vegan, cruelty free cosmetics from a range of both luxury and high street brands...I'm a total makeup hoarder, and love to try all the new product launches. When I'm not out working with my clients, I also do beauty writing and some photography (so am always happy to discuss packages including hair, makeup & photos too).

Perfect day

I spent a lot of time searching for a makeup artist I was comfortable and confident with. When I saw Ali's profile she was the only artist I'd seen who really stood out to me. She came from London to Sheffield for my wedding day, arriving just before 8am. I was very nervous and she calmed me down instantly. She got to work straight away with my hair and makeup and then the 4 bridesmaids. All 5 of is looked perfect and all finished with time to spare so we weren't rushing and panicking. Very talented and lovely woman.

What is your most memorable wedding?

Probably one of the first weddings I ever did, I was booked by a drag queen and his partner, it was really glam!

What about your business are you most proud of?

The fact that I get to work my dream job and am now part of around 50 weddings per year, its so special & I always feel lucky to be chosen to be part of somebody's wedding day.

Relax and enjoy the process

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I love hearing bride's talk about their husband or wife to be, its so sweet

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I would usually arrange an initial chat on the phone to discuss styling. After that you're welcome to have your trial whenever you fancy it (although I usually recommend at least 2 months before your wedding day). Then you can relax and let me take care of the rest

Makeup, I've always been a total makeup addict and love to try all the new product launches!

What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?

Take good care of your skin, I'm always happy to advise

How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?

Take some little breaks if you need to, and make sure there's plenty of time for you to enjoy getting pampered

What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?

Bit of a lippie and some pressed powder are all you need, I'll make sure your hair & makeup lasts all day for you
