Description
This historical village situated in the foothills of the Serra da Estrela mountains, 810 metres above sea level, takes pride in its imposing, powerful castle, whose architecture is essentially military in style. Built by King Dinis in 1291, the castle has been declared a national monument. This small village, typical of the Beira region where granite houses and narrow streets offer visitors a view of magnificent mountain landscapes where you can breathe in the rich past that has been preserved through the ages.

Finishings are a bit poorly: doors with big gaps, bathroom without power point, useless hair dryer, old fashioned taps and no fixing for putting up the shower head. Breakfast was disappointing, poor selection, poor quality and echoey big room.At first we were very impressed. It looks stunning and quite luxurious. Because of the way the hotel is laid out, be prepared for a lot off walking, but it's all worth it. Linhares is a small place, built on and from local stone. Went To Linhares for a few days last year in August and I felt safe and welcomed with pandemic rules very easy to follow with the fantastic help of the hotel employees we felt at home and very welcomingBest satay I had.
