The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and kind to us. We especially appreciate their restaurant recommendations! Our room was very cozy, clean and comfortable. The breakfast offered was truly amazing, we loved every single part of our stay! The setting and atmosphere was just magical. The floors in our room, while beautiful, were slippery and uneven reclaimed stone from the area. But this was part of the experience. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.A unique hotel with rooms in caves. Very rustic and comfortable. First, i noticed pple in the review before i book complaining about moist and dark! Duuuuuh its a cave!!! Second, we stayed here in February it was soo cold but inside the cave was amazing and warm. The service is absolutely wonderful, Emilia and Piere were kind of to welcome us and help us with luggage during checkin and out. Its an amazing feeling being there. Best cave authentic room we have ever stayed in. This is the real deal people. First, i noticed pple in the review before i book complaining about moist and dark! Duuuuuh its a cave!!! Second, we stayed here in February it was soo cold but inside the cave was amazing and warm. We stayed over for one night during the off season (in February) in the room with a bathtub and it was very relaxing to use it after a full day of traveling and exploring the town. The ventilation was very good in our room (room 14) which is a very important feature when it comes to sleeping in the caves as we’ve been told. This is a truly magical place that provides a very authentic experience of spending a night (or a few) in Matera.
