I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Somaschi for a short weekend and I must say that I was pleasantly impressed. The structure, created from an ancient 17th century monastery, is truly evocative and with attention to the smallest details. The hillside location offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and its surroundings Breakfast is truly rich and abundant, with a buffet offering both sweet and savory options. The hotel is an old monastery, situated at the edge of the old town of Cherasco, a sleepy little town in the Barolo wine region. The building and its surroundings are stunningly beautiful. The hotel has a pleasant pool area with a good number of sunbeds and a cabaña. The pool area is an extension of the pleasant bistro's terrace, so there's no need to get up from one's sunbed to order appetizers or a cocktail to be enjoyed in the sun. A pleasant place with nice employees welcoming you in different languages (It, Fr, En at least) rooms are nice and comfy. Parking is free and just next to the hotel. You won't necessary have to grab your car to go for a restaurant a bar or small shopping, all can be reached by foot. The breakfast takes place in the basement vaulted with bricks which is pretty nice. even if in the summer I'd love to take in the garden instead.A pleasant place with nice employees welcoming you in different languages (It, Fr, En at least) rooms are nice and comfy.
