The Certosa di Pontignano, the official conference center of the University of Siena and an ideal destination for stays in Tuscany , dates back to 1343 and follows the traditional appearance of the Carthusian monasteries. In 1703, the Chapel of Sant'Agnese was built inside the Certosa , recognized throughout the world as a small "Sistine Chapel" in the land of Siena. We really liked the vibe of the old monastery. The location, the gardens, everything. The room was small, simple and cozy. We decided to spend one more extra night, because we found it great. This place is simply incredible! The rooms are simple but it fits the sanctuary vibe. Even the basic rooms are roomy. The place is clean. Great location and beautiful views. The restaurant has nice selection and the food is excellent. Breakfast is tasty, fresh and has plenty to choose from. The small church is breathtaking and the garden romantic Rooms: Nice choice from just room for a couple to 2 brm apts for a good price Nearby activities: Wine, culture, Siena, Tuscany, biking This place is simply incredible! This one of the best hotel I stayed at, set on a Hill looking over the city. Very unique and charming. Thus If you are into old charm, timeless beauty, and historical architecture, then you must stay here, just few km away from Siena. They have a spacious courtyard & beautiful garden. Our room was huge with wooden four poster bed, wooden floors, and big Windows -perfect for appreciating the amazing view! The breakfast spread was beautiful, staff are very attentive. This one of the best hotel I stayed at, set on a Hill looking over the city. Very unique and charming. We organized our wedding in the venue in August 2022. Everything turned out to be amazing. Even though we had some difficulties when planning, Eleonora, the responsible person for the weddings management in Certosa, acted responsibly and gave us great support during the whole wedding weekend we spent with our guests there. All necessary furniture deliveries, tables setup, food serving happened exactly on time. The food was amazing both the way it tasted and the way it looked.We organized our wedding in the venue in August 2022. Everything turned out to be amazing.
