A truly unique wedding venue, The Great Hall at the Temple Gate Hotel provides a stunning room for your wedding reception – originally built as a church in 1886 and refurbished to offer space for up to 220 wedding guests. The history of the Temple Gate Hotel is most evident in The Great Hall where awe inspiring stained glass windows transform natural light into a rainbow of colours.
The Great Hall still has many of its original features including vaulted ceiling with oak beams and hand painted batiks. Guests may not remember what song you danced your first dance to, but they will remember their wedding reception meal and the unique venue. Our reputation for excellence is evident in our list of awards and accolades. The Great Hall Foyer is the ideal venue for a more intimate gathering or civil ceremony.
The Temple Gate Hotel hosts just one wedding per day, guaranteeing you and your guests a memorable occasion. We been awarded an AA Rosette in recognition of culinary excellence each year since the hotel opened in 1996 with delicious food expertly prepared to ensure you have the quality of food expected on your Wedding Day.

From the first day we met and up to and after the wedding Marie and Amy were so helpful, accommodating and supportive throughout. The function room was beautiful and the food was exceptional. - JJeannine & Ken21/06/2023They made every second stress free!They made every second stress free!We recently got married and had our reception in The Temple Gate and I don't have the words to say just how great this hotel was in accommodating our every need. From the moment we booked our date to after the wedding Marie and Amy could not do enough for us - they made every second stress free! We stayed in the Daniel O'Connell suite for the two nights and it was absolutely fab - I would have happily moved in there! The waterfall shower and huge comfortable bed were amazing and such a treat. We recently got married and had our reception in The Temple Gate and I don't have the words to say just how great this hotel was in accommodating our every need. From the moment we booked our date to after the wedding Marie and Amy could not do enough for us - they made every second stress free! Amy and Marie were nothing but fantastic in the 3 years we have been communicating with them, helping us arrange three wedding dates. It was definitely third time lucky! We had 107 guests travel to Ireland with us from England and every one of them commented that it was the best wedding they have ever been to.After postponing our wedding two years due to Covid, we can both say it was well worth the wait!
