Everything was perfect from getting ready in the prep area that morning, to the ceremony that afternoon and then dinner that evening - just amazing. The team made planning our wedding so easy and enjoyable. Can't thank everyone enough, especially Elaine, Claire, Gillian and Dean. Nothing was too much for them. What an astounding place for photos too! Couldn't have been happier! Sad that we can't do it all again! Would recommend Boyne Hill to anyone getting married as it really caters for every couples individual needs. Superb venue. From our first visit, as we drove into the estate, we both immediately fell in love with the beauty of the house and the stunning secret garden. Katie and her team were also very welcoming and wonderful and took their time to show us the beautiful venue and all the details of it. Throughout the year before our big day, Claire, Catherine, and their team were in constant communication with us and helped us with all the questions and queries we had during the process. They were very accommodating and supportive throughout and we can't thank them enough for all their help. On the big day, everything went so perfectly, and we got so lucky to be able to have our ceremony in the beautiful secret garden. All the staff were so patient, welcoming, and professional the whole day, the service was incredible, and every staff member made sure we have the best day ever. Food was exceptional, both on the day of the wedding and on the tasting, and the service was amazing too. Still to this day, all our guests give us compliments on how amazing the food was at our wedding. We cannot thank Claire, Catherine and their team of staff enough for making sure we have the wedding of our dreams, in the most beautiful venue imaginable. The venue exceeded all our expectations for not only us but for our guests also. Every part of this spectacular venue was enjoyed by all of our guests. The children loved the cinema room and enjoyed watching their older cousins playing snooker in the snooker room. The dining room and sitting room looked spectacular with their Christmas trees and decorations and added to the atmosphere of enjoyment during our drinks receptions. The buffet food on our first night was absolutely delicous and could only be beaten by the wedding banquet itself.....where the chef outdid himself with the standard, presentation and taste of all the food served. A mention has to be made in relation to the staff in Boyne Hill House.....they were gracious and very professional. From when we arrived it felt like we were wrapped up in a warm hug with every need catered for....even those we didn't know we had. Every single thing we needed was taken care of, down to the smallest detail. From the time we booked our wedding up to the day of our wedding we were guided and supported every step of the way. A special mention has to be made to the outstanding care and attention we were given by Gillian and the dashing Elaine. It was the first venue we viewed and nothing else could surpass even those first impressions. From the moment we put a provisional booking down Claire and the team were absolutely fantastic. They could not do enough for us and helped us with planning right from the start. They welcomed us and all our questions at every possible opportunity, and on the day of, they went above and beyond to make sure that not only us, but each and every one of our guests were having a great time. I forgot to have my groomsmen wear their buttonholes initially, and Elaine did not hesitate to fashion a beautiful new buttonhole from the flowers of the garden. Simply a phenomenal service provided by all staff. Even the caretaker spoke to us on our every visit and told us more about the wonderful history of the grounds. The layout of the building and the flow of the day have really been nailed down, to a tee. The staff managed to coordinate all of our vendors for us, and helped them move their equipment as the day progressed, making everything as seamless as possible. Finally, the food is prepared by someone of unearthly talent, and was undoubtedly one of the most resounding comments of all our guests. What we would do to have another menu tasting night!! This is an exceptional and unique venue that genuinely cares about the couples coming here. No matter what your hopes for your big day, Boyne Hill and it's wonderful staff have it covered. We loved the decor and overall vibe of the venue and loved that it had so many different rooms & things to do - from the beauty room, cinema room, billiards room it really meant that our guests could entertain themselves during the drinks reception. Every member of staff we dealt with were amazing from Catherine in reservations, to Claire who was on hand for any (and there were many!) questions and guidance along the way to Elaine who was great at our menu tasting and absolutely outstanding on the day! We had so many compliments from our guests about the quality of the staff on the day. And last but not least - the food! The food was exceptional - it really was restaurant standard! So many people are still talking about the canapés at the drinks reception, the main meal, sliders and chip cones and then tayto sandwiches to top it all off.. the food really did just keep coming . The chef did a fantastic job! There was not one single thing we would change about the day - we’d just love to do it all over again!! The staff at BHH are what makes the place, every single person truly made us feel so welcome, they are so professional, friendly and accommodating. We originally booked our wedding for October 2024 but due to unforeseen circumstances we brought it forward to March and the staff couldn't have been more helpful with this request. They done everything to ensure that it was a seamless move, I can't thank them enough for this alone. They are so consistent with their communication and no question too small. A special thanks to Claire who took care of every tiny detail, she truly made me feel at ease and I literally did not hesitate to place my trust in her, she's just amazing at what she does. Also, a big thanks to Elaine who made sure the dinner service and everything in-between flowed with no issues. I maybe biased but the food at BHH is the best I've ever tasted, it's exceptional!! I lost count of the amount of guests who came up to me on the day and complimented the food, a testament to the amazing chef there. On the wedding day itself, Ciaran and I were just looked after so fantastically by all the team and the day flowed with such ease. We could not recommend this venue enough, we all had the time of our lives and the day itself is still being talked about over a week on which is a reflection on the venue and it’s amazing staff. We’re taking the Flop out of the Flip-Flop!
As part of our commitment to sustainability here at Boyne Hill House, we have decided to phase out the practice of our Brides bringing in flip-flops for their guests for late-night dancing. Most flip flops today are made from plastic threatening the health of the ocean with many travelling oceans and becoming a routine find during beach clean-ups. Plastic flip-flops also wear down easily transporting microplastic to the ocean through our waterways.
A few facts :
From 30.000 items collected during a research mission on a remote island in the Indian Ocean, 11.000 were flip flops!
One of the largest pollutants in the ocean is polyurethane from flip flops and other shoes that have been washed or thrown into rivers and flow into the ocean (1)
We believe that prevention is far better than cure when it comes to plastic pollution: Our recommendation to brides is that they ask their guests to bring their own flat shoes to change into, but if they insist in providing flip-flops, there are rubber alternatives available to buy.
