WELCOME
We are a private historical venue that offers a range of luxurious exclusive experiences. We host both intimate and large bespoke weddings, private parties and gatherings, luxury corporate and wellness retreats, hen parties, family reunions, afternoon tea and group accommodation bookings. Destination weddings, private dinners, photoshoots and film location are also very welcome.
THE ESTATE
Built in 1766, The Millhouse and The Old Mill Slane, the weir and the millrace were once considered the largest and finest complex of its kind in Ireland. Originally a corn mill powered by two large water wheels, the harvest was hoisted into the upper floor granaries before being dried, sifted and ground.
Over time, the Old Mill became a specialised manufacturer of textiles turning raw cotton into luxury bed linen. Times have changed but this past remains part of our history, acknowledged and conserved.
In 2006, The Millhouse was creatively rejuvenated, transformed into a hotel and wedding venue of unique character - a nod to the early 1900's when it briefly served as a hotel-stop for passengers on pleasure steamer boats.
THE COACH HOUSE
Enjoy our beautiful, private dressing and makeup room overlooking the river. This suite is the perfect space for you and your wedding party to enjoy all aspects of getting ready & will act as a haven to calm those pre--wedding nerves while getting amazing photos! A very special and tailored champagne breakfast is included and will be delivered to your suite.
CEREMONIES
We love hosting weddings or blessings onsite, whether it’s in our wonderful dramatic Mill Ceremony room or in our south facing orchard on the riverside front lawn, allowing your guests to spend the entire day in our idyllic surroundings. This beautiful epic venue is full of character, warmth and old world charm. Our experienced wedding coordinators and hospitality team take great pride in offering you an imaginative personal service and adore being with you every step of the way.
WEDDINGS
Our experienced wedding coordinators and hospitality team take great pride in offering you imaginative, personal service. We offer alternative weddings in our Georgian Manor House wedding venue with a choice of indoor and outdoor venues for your civil ceremony. You can get married in our dramatic Mill ceremony room, in the Orchard or on the riverside garden. We will help turn your wedding dreams into reality in Irelands truly magical, exclusive wedding venue on the banks of the River Boyne, Co. Meath.
ACCOMMODATION
The Georgian Manor House is located beside the Old Mill, Orchard and Gardens.
It is here, standing by the River Boyne, that you can feel our historic past and enjoy nature at its peaceful best. The Millhouse interiors are glamorous with a quirky twist. We have fifteen bedrooms to accommodate up to 50 guests in the hotel with 21 glamping units on the grounds sleeping an additional 61 guests.
GLAMPING
We can host up to 61 people in our quirky glamp site. All glamping units are uniquely styled with luxurious interiors, boasting feather duvets and pillows with rich upholstery, comfortable beds and great showers. Some units have their own private hot tubs.
With so many quirky units to choose from, you're sure to have a unique and adventurous stay. There's also a wonderful riverside area for camping with hot showers in the treehouse, and large barbecue and kitchen area.
This little glamping area of seventeen units is perfect for your own private party. Ideal for Hen Parties, Stags, Birthdays & Christmas Parties.
WEDDING GUESTS
All Bedrooms in the Manor House are allocated to the Bride/Grooms wedding party.
Glamping units can be booked by wedding guests by contacting us directly.
Please note, hot tubs and jacuzzi bath's will not be available for wedding guests.

Every detail of the experience exceeded our expectations and deserved nothing less than a 5-star rating!! In addition to the impeccable service, the venue's grounds and facilities were absolutely remarkable. The culinary experience at the wedding was nothing short of exceptional. I had the privilege of being the videographer for a local couple's wedding, and I can confidently say that the service we received from the moment we arrived until the last dance was truly outstanding. Every detail of the experience exceeded our expectations and deserved nothing less than a 5-star rating!! In addition to the impeccable service, the venue's grounds and facilities were absolutely remarkable. The culinary experience at the wedding was nothing short of exceptional.

We were met by Valerie who brought us on a tour of the venue and talked us through how the day would run she was so calm and knowledgeable we were instantly sold! Valerie and the whole team were always there to answer questions big or small! The Millhouse removed any stress and made the run up so enjoyable the way it should be! Leah, Jenna, and Lisa were absolutely fantastic—so friendly and professional! They truly went out of their way to resolve any issues that arose during the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly. The food was incredible, with the lamb, chicken and chorizo, and paella being highlights of the menu. All our guests raved about it! We recently had our wedding at at The Millhouse in Slane and couldn't have asked for a better experience in terms of service. When I have spoken to newly wed couples are always very happy with the service. From the months and weeks leading up to the day, the morning of the day itself to the early morning hours the following day(!), the staff were so helpful in making the day run seamlessly. Special shout-out to Celine and Caroline who kept everything in order and the nerves under control! Everyone complimented the venue and it truly is a magical place to get married. People are still raving about the food!We could not recommend this venue enough. The food and staff was absolutely fantastic. Both myself and the photographer on the day were very impressed by the wedding coordinator, Jenna. She kept the entire day going and on time.
