Nestled in the hills of Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny, Mountain View is a stunning, family-run wedding venue set on 120 acres of rolling countryside. Originally a family farm, it has been lovingly transformed by the O’Neill family into a stylish and welcoming space that blends rural charm with contemporary elegance.
At Mountain View, couples can expect exclusive and private use of the venue and its grounds ensuring privacy, flexibility, and a deeply personal experience. Whether you’re planning a grand celebration or a more intimate gathering, the venue offers multiple unique spaces to suit your vision:
- Grand Marquee — Spacious and elegant space with floor‑to‑ceiling glass walls giving sweeping views over the countryside; opening onto a terrace. Ideal for big celebrations (up to approx. 220 guests)
- The Greenhouse — Ideal for intimate weddings (up to 60 guests) Floor-to-ceiling glass windows with stunning countryside views. Stylish, light-filled space with unique décor.
- The Cowshed — Rustic and relaxed space full of charm and character. Ideal for laid-back, alternative weddings. Perfect for couples seeking a boho or festival-style vibe ( up to 250 guests)
- Say "I Do" at Mountain View - The outdoor Pergola, surrounded by nature and sweeping views. The Cow Shed, offering a rustic, intimate indoor setting with charm and character.

Our wedding packages range from €119pp to €135pp for a weekend wedding during the months of May to September based on a minimum number of 100 guests.
During the off peak months of October to April we also offer off peak rates for weekend weddings on both our wedding packages. A 15% discount will apply for weddings of 80 guests or more.

They are the perfect relaxed wedding venue with multiple spaces to host your ideal wedding. Set in the countryside but not too far from the city they are perfectly placed for the country vibe with city convenience. I love working here because I'm never stuck for places to do portraits but also the couples and their guests are always having the time of their lives. I can't wait to get back there. I've photographed in Mountainview enough times to know that they really know what they're doing. They are the perfect relaxed wedding venue with multiple spaces to host your ideal wedding. All staff were excellent and their attention to detail was impeccable - it made us feel so comfortable and took off all the pressure from the day. The venue was beautifully done - all guests commented on the stunning location of the venue (even during Storm Amy, which speaks for itself!) as well as couldn't speak more highly about the quality of the food. We greatly appreciated Gerry the chef's understanding and reassurance regarding my food allergies as well as other guests' dietary requirements. Mountain View is uniquely personal. We first visited the venue on an extremely wet & foggy day - unable to see in front of you, nor was the venue set up. The owner, Bee, sold it to us on her kindness alone. One of the bar men, Peter, even brought me a rose as it was his mother's saying that it 'makes all of your dreams come true' if given a rose on October 3rd (our wedding day). The day after the wedding when we collected the remainder of our items, James took his time to tell us about the history of the venue and the plans for it's future, which was a lovely personal touch. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our special day. We held our rehearsal dinner in Mountain View's sister restaurant, Petronella, the night before and also cannot recommend highly enough. One of the most unforgettable weddings at Mountain View took place in our beautifully restored Cow Shed, where rustic charm met pure romance. The couple transformed the space into a magical ceremony setting — candlelit aisles, wildflowers, and the breathtaking hills visible through the open doors.
After the vows, guests were surprised by a lively marching band that led them up to thr Greenhouse for their welcome drinks reception, filling the air with joy and celebration.
The evening continued with feast-style dining in our marquee, where the long tables brought everyone together, creating a warm, joyful atmosphere filled with conversation, laughter, and connection.
