Describe the best wedding that happened at Inish Beg Estate?
Oooh, to many to choose from! The town mouse was marrying a country mouse and the town mouse was in love with her father-in-laws farm and especially the cows! Dad decided to give her a wedding present of a young female calf so she could begin her own herd on his farm and it wasn't good enough to give her a photo - he actually brought the little calf and her catering supplies all the way from the west of Ireland to Inish Beg where she lodged overnight in a stable. When the couple were popping around their chosen photo spots on the estate aboard one of our chauffeur driven golf buggies they stopped at the stables and the proud Dad presented her with her surprise entry into his farm family! She was so touched and shed tears of joy and they had the most fun, relaxed, family celebrations over the next couple of days. They planted a tree near the pond before departing and they have now visited annually since their wedding day years ago, and with their children in recent years.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Plan the wedding celebration they want and are enthused about - if are happy your family and friends will be too!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One couple, who were on a strict budget and had a host of aunties attending from abroad (all of whom were keen bakers), invited them to each bake a cake and there was a very festively decorated table displaying these fabulous cakes (lots of festive bunting in mint green and pale pink Easter colours overhead giving a very village fair vibe). Guests went up one by one and chose a slice or two from whichever took their fancy for dessert. That was a huge success and suited that particular family perfectly!
Describe Inish Beg Estate in 5 adjectives
Relaxing, rejuvenating, inspiring, natural and special!
Where’s the best photo spot at Inish Beg Estate?
Again, too many stunning spots to choose from, but my favourite would be under the heavy arched branch of a 130+ year old Macra Carpa tree with the River Ilen Estuary in the background
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Inish Beg Estate?
Now that would be telling! Sssh
What is Inish Beg Estate most unique feature?
Inish Beg is unique - couples and their families often say they felt like they left the world and its troubles behind when they crossed the old stone bridge and stepped into their private wedding bubble for a few days.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are immensely proud of the beauty and nature of the estate and do our utmost to ensure it stays that way - not too manicured but not too wild either - it is an Organic Estate full of butterflies, bees, bats, birds, wild and cultured flowers ...... Also, the freedom couples have to create their own wedding celebration here and to make it uniquely special to them. Also the feedback we get and revisits from not only the couples themselves but their guests too.
