I remember being sat at the top table watching our guests have their food served and it was just all done so well. Our friends and family still talk about what a perfect venue the Errigal was for our day. From we first met Niall at a Wedding fair, we basically had our mind made up before seeing the hotel in person! Niall went above and beyond in every way possible, from pre planning, accommodating our set up requests, guest room bookings, actual run of day and helping organise our day two celebrations (including helping arrange local entertainment) we really couldn't recommend him and his team enough. The hotel itself was perfect. The recent upgrades are beautiful throughout! The hotel is a hidden gem - very spacious and could very comfortably accommodate our 280 guests for arrival drinks, comfortable dinner seating and dancing in the evening. Our wedding guests could all stay comfortably in one area but there are also plenty of comfortable areas around the hotel if anyone needs to sneak off for some quiet during the day. The flow of guests from arrival drinks, to dinner, to room changeover for the evening was seamless and the positioning of bars and restrooms helped the day flow seamlessly while keeping everyone together. The food and service was outstanding with many of our guests commenting that it was the best wedding meal they had had. Service was very quick, food was served fresh and hot and was delicious, and additional requests were accommodated with ease. We could not recommend this hotel and team enough to couples looking for the perfect wedding venue. We were a couple affected by Covid and should have been married in July '21, but from originally booking in 2019, through to the day of the wedding, everything was so straight forward to deal with, with all their help and expertise. Every single person who attended our wedding spoke very highly of the rooms, the lovely elegant look that the hotel has & the delicious food served. The staff also couldn't have done anymore for us, so we again wanted to highlight the high level of service this full hotel serves their customers. We cannot thank them enough for allowing us to have the best day celebrating with our nearest & dearest. The full experience from start to finish we cannot recommend this hotel anymore. Ivan who had looked after us throughout the process showed incredible compassion and patience as we scrambled to figure out how to manage our grief while planning the happiest day of our lives. He not only helped with the practicalities of a new dates changing venders etc but on the day the entire team went beyond for everyone to feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. The food, drinks, run through of the day all without a hitch. The one on one approach the small team shows, never pushing to up packages or insisting the extras are needed like I found other hotels did. The small team management allowed for flexibility for the bride and groom to input their own personal twist on their special day. On the day us and our families are blown away by the attention and detail to everything and how welcoming we all felt, the food amazing and was very plentiful, we would highly recommend The Errigal and their staff for your big day and all you have to do is sit back and enjoy. I emailed Niall Kelly to see about an appointment when possible he gave us the first possible date. On arrival to the hotel my self and my husband got such a warm welcome and Niall pulled out all the stops. Niall showed us all around the hotel from the fully dressed function room right down to all the bedrooms they had he could not do enough for us. He showed us all the different packages and we chose to go with the fairy tale package and to their word that is what it was. The function room was decorated to the last including the cake stand and the sweet cart. My husband had arranged some surprises and a singing waiter for myself on the day and management helped my husband along the way. There was great contact between ourselves and the management of the hotel to help us with arrangements and to help ourselves plan the wedding down to the tiniest detail. The food was 5 star and plenty for everybody with seconds offered. The staff on the day we could not fault them at all they were very helpful and all had a smile and joined in with the fun which was lovely. My self and my husband where so happy and our wedding day was exactly what we imagined with the help of the Errigal team we could not of had the fairy tale wedding with out them. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Our most memorable wedding to date was our largest, hosting just under 400 guests. I was incredibly proud of how our staff balanced professionalism with a fun-loving attitude, ensuring every guest felt welcome. The bride and groom arranged for a live band to play during the main course, creating a brilliant atmosphere. From start to finish, our team delivered top-class service, making the lively day enjoyable for both guests and staff alike.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don’t be afraid to embrace something unique. Ensure your perfect day reflects your vision for a wedding. Choosing to do something different will make your wedding memorable.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A few years ago, we hosted a wedding that did something truly unique. Instead of a traditional table plan, there was a large drum at the entrance filled with tickets, each indicating a table and seat number, such as "Table 10, Seat 3." Guests drew their tickets from the drum and sat at the assigned table, which mixed everyone up.
Initially, many guests felt out of their comfort zone, but the bride and groom were adamant about this arrangement. The bride's family was from Monaghan, and the groom's family was from Kerry, so they wanted to encourage mingling between the two families.
After the meal, I asked a few guests how they felt about the table plan. They admitted that while they were hesitant at first, they ended up having a fantastic time. The arrangement allowed them to meet new people and have conversations they wouldn't have had otherwise. It turned out to be a wonderful way to get the two families to mix and served as a great talking point.
This personal touch from the bride and groom was one of my favorite aspects of the wedding.

Relaxed, Stylish, Efficient, Welcoming, fun- loving
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
This is a tough question to answer, as there are so many beautiful spots around the hotel. However, our flower garden and the staircase truly stand out.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We have had a few celebrities attend weddings at our hotel.
What’s your favourite canapé?
We do a chef's platter at the hotel which consists of burger sliders and different flavoured chicken skewers. They are so tasty and always go down a treat.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Has to be Tayto sambos
What is your venue's most unique feature?
I think our most unique feature at the hotel is our staff.. With myself, mum and dad and about 40 other staff we are all very close and work really well as a team.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
My family built and opened this hotel 20 years ago this year (2024).. I am very proud to see how far we have all come this past 20 years.. Our business is going from strength to strength and that is down to all our customers and brilliant staff.
