We opted for a civil ceremony so had everything on the grounds. Because of some forecasted showers we couldn't have the ceremony outdoors but this really didn't matter. We were so impressed with how beautiful the setup was for the ceremony inside. They have the most wonderful, knowledgeable and efficient team. They worked with us and nothing was too much to ask. The venue is stunning. The grounds are breathtaking and the food was delicious. Everyone commented about the day how well the venue looked and how good the food was. On the personal side of our day the hotel took such good care of us. Brendan our coordinator led us through everything on the day. We didn't have to wonder about anything. Took care of everything and nothing was too much for them. The wedding coordinator Sheila was an absolute star just really really sound and professional. Our guests really enjoyed themselves and said the food and rooms were great! The Wedding Breakfast was amazing. A number of guests commented their meal was piping hot regardless of whether their table was served first or last. And Day 2 celebrations continued in Healy Macs Bar & The Mulberry Restaurant where we were treated as though we were old friends by each member of staff. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Every wedding at Breaffy House Resort is special, but one that stands out featured a breathtaking outdoor ceremony under the ancient oak tree, a surprise performance from Riverdance-style dancers, and a spectacular fireworks display over our grounds. The couple even hosted a whiskey tasting in our Wine Cellar, making it an unforgettable experience for their guests!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy the process! It’s easy to get caught up in the details, but the most memorable weddings are the ones where the couple is relaxed and truly present. Lean on your venue team (that’s what we’re here for!), trust your suppliers, and don’t sweat the small stuff—your guests will remember the love, not the chair covers!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One couple created handwritten notes for each guest at their place setting, sharing a memory or special message. It was such a heartfelt gesture that made every guest feel truly valued and part of the couple’s journey.

The grand fireplace is a showstopper for elegant portraits, but our gardens at sunset? Pure magic. For something unique, the Wine Cellar offers a moody, intimate vibe perfect for romantic shots.

We’ve hosted a few familiar faces over the years, but we always keep our lips sealed! However, let’s just say Breaffy has been the venue of choice for some well-known names who adore its privacy and charm.
