Blackwater Castle is available to hire in its entirety for your special event as a private hire venue. We encourage you to take over the Castle and create your own magical event so that the Castle is your home from home. There is no formula here – you have the freedom to design your wedding in a way that reflects your unique style unfettered by licensing rules or other restrictions. You can select a theme and dress the Castle in a way that reflects that theme – we encourage you to bring in your own personal touches such as all your old family photos to place around the fireplaces and pianos so that your guests really feel as if they are celebrating your event with you at home.

Hi, I am Patrick, owner, managing director, care taker and basically here for to help you, after successfully having 'stormed' the castle, making it your castle, and your home. I also like to emphasise, I am available for when you need me, but I also otherwise stay away when you don't - you're the king and queen of your castle, Lord and Lady, and I encourage to bring your own flag and hoist it on the flagpole on top of the tower to show it :)

In very brief (ask me to elaborate anytime): The idea is that you have the castle estate not only as your home, but you are encouraged to see it as your asset that will work in your favor. So as you would expect your guests to pay for their bedroom at a hotel, factor them in and run the castle as your hotel.
I also reward longer stay - so while the average accommodation cost for a person/night for a 2 night stay at full occupancy (70 persons in total) is about €80 average, if you for instance stay for a week (7 nights) the average cost per person/night would be under €40 (€36.73 to be exact!) at 2026 rates.
The deposit to secure your desired dates is €2000 and then I don't expect you to settle the balance until 2 weeks prior to your event, allowing you ample time to have your guests paying to you for their bedrooms - and that way you won't be out of pocket when you cover the balance.
This is also only the beginning to ways to saving expenses and making money at your wedding - I am more than happy to walk you through every detail and in result it should be very realistic for you to join in to the many previous couples having had their wedding at Blackwater Castle at very little cost to themselves, and sometimes at no cost at all!

An outdoor wedding ceremony in the beautiful gardens. Next day the young ones went off ziplining over the trees while the oldies strolled in the grounds and enjoyed singing around the grand piano. We are already talking about a reunion on the fifth anniversary. The staff couldn't do enough and the grounds are spectacular. I would definitely rate it as a top class venue.
