They made all of my dreams come true, and I cannot imagine a more magnificent wedding. I was dreading going into it, but now I wish I could relive it again and again. The most heartfelt thank you, from the bottom of my heart, goes to the Belleek staff. From the cleaning staff who sorted the bedrooms upstairs, to each and every bartender and waitstaff, to the managers (especially Steven), to the porters, to the maintenance men (who BUILT me a bookshelf), to the cooks and chefs, and Elaine and Eva, they were the the real reason this wedding was so special, and such a success. Their kindness, smiles, compliments, and genuine joy were a pleasure to be surrounded by for the weekend. Also, missed in a previous review, they were so respectful of the Indian wedding, and went out of their way to ensure that everything was as I needed. I felt and was treated like a princess all day by the Belleek Castle staff, and they were incredibly helpful all throughout the planning process. I planned the wedding from Switzerland, which was not the easiest thing to do, but Eva and Elaine were so accommodating. It ended up being an absolute dream. We had the most perfect wedding day ever at Belleek Castle! I felt and was treated like a princess all day by the Belleek Castle staff, and they were incredibly helpful all throughout the planning process. Everything exceeded our expectations. Belleek is unique in that it offers an authentic castle experience, it is intimate, it is homely, it delivers an incredible experience from start to finish. The rustic ceremony room in the stable block, the court yard, the armada bar, the tween decks dining area and the incredible banqueting hall all were amazing . The food and wine were just incredible, fine dining for large numbers was perfected and we have received amazing feedback from our guests. We stayed for two nights in Castle and had a family gathering the night before the wedding, it was amazing and we highly recommend doing this. The staff at the Castle were beyond amazing and helpful, particularly the wedding co-ordinaters Eva and Elaine. They put us at ease from day 1 and were with us to help, support and organise all the way. We knew from the moment we met them that we had nothing to worry about. Belleek was 20/10 experience, the only pity was the wedding day flew by. We had a small wedding, about 24 people total, which worked out perfectly as everyone was able to stay in the castle the night before and night of the wedding. The castle and grounds are obviously stunning, the photos speak for themselves. We got lucky with good weather and were able to take some amazing photos outside, as well as at Downpatrick's head nearby. Eve and Elaine were like built-in day-of coordinators, and thought of many details I would not have. They had several phone calls with me throughout the planning process, and were able to make everything happen without a hitch. They had a list of recommended (but not required) vendors, all of which were amazing. The castle itself was cozy and romantic, and it was so much fun running around the castle the night before and getting ready with my bridesmaids and family. The food was phenomenal, we heard the chef may be Michelin-trained and it showed, many of my guests said it was the best meal they have ever had in their life. I never even personally met our faux florist, live florist, or string quartet. Thanks to Eve and Elaine, they just showed up, set up, and went on their way. They did a perfect job and it was very stress-free for me. The officiant they recommended, Susan Heffernan, did such a lovely job, and helped us to make the wedding official (a little tricky being a destination wedding for us from the US, but she helped us work it out)! The barn where we had the ceremony looked absolutely magical with the decor from Aisle Love You. And the medieval banquet hall in the basement was so much fun with the band we hired, had its own dedicated bar, and looked super cool with a great amount of space. Soā¦ it has to be our wedding. Not biased at all š
We got married at Belleek Castle in October, golden leaves, golden light, golden wedding. Honestly the most extraordinary wedding Iāve ever been to, and Iām so glad it was mine.
From the moment we picked a date, my father-in-law (who we all call the Crazy Baron) said, āRight, letās make it a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday wedding.ā We looked at each other and went, āWhy not!ā And honestly, it was a proper party from start to finish.
Thursday night we had a rehearsal dinner in the Library Restaurant for 50 of our closest family. It was intimate, candlelit and so lovely. On Friday, most of our guests arrived for an American-style BBQ in the Castle Courtyard. We had the Vinyl Van playing the best feel-good music, people dancing, chatting, enjoying drinks from the outside bar. The courtyard looked magical with all the fairy lights, and the whole vibe was just relaxed and fun.
Saturday was the big day. I started early in the Lord Arran Room with my girls, hair and makeup with champagne breakfast, calm, special and full of excitement. The ceremony was in the Old Stables, one of the most authentic room in the castle. The walls havenāt been touched for 200 years but yes, thereās underfloor heating. It felt surreal standing there, saying our vows in a place thatās been part of our family since the 60s. Our kids were the flower girls and flower boy and they absolutely stole the show. We loved every second.
Even though our guests were from all over the world; Jersey, France, Poland, Germany, Ireland, it felt like one big family celebration. The Champagne tower sparkled. The Armada Bar was buzzing with drinks, music and stories. We had 120 guests, 11 kids, a nanny on-site and a playroom set up, so we actually got to enjoy our dinner in the Banqueting Hall and dance into the night.
Ten castle bedrooms meant we could have 26 of our guests staying on-site, which made it feel like a big house party in a real castle. That was important to me, I didnāt want a hotel vibe, I wanted something that felt like home. The rest of our friends and family stayed in nearby hotels and Airbnbs, and the transport was all organised so smoothly. Everything ran like a dream.
And I have to say, the staff were unreal. You could feel the love in what they do. Itās a family-run place ā our family ā and the atmosphere reflects that. Eva, our coordinator, was incredible. We planned everything from Jersey and she handled every detail, every email, every idea. She made it feel easy and exciting.
Oh and the afterparty? A fantastic live band, Polish feast at midnight (because I had to), and letās just say there was no shortage of ice-cold vodka. Please donāt ask what time it finished. All Iāll say is the hearty Irish breakfast the next morning was a lifesaver.
In between all the fun we had castle and museum tours, walks in Belleek Woods, and even squeezed in a visit to Patrickās Head. So we werenāt just drinkingā¦ we like to think.
It was a real castle experience, full of heart and history. Authentic, beautiful, joyful and very us. We made memories weāll never forget, and neither will our guests.
