Description

This atypical and charming place was designed as a “mountain club” and built by Avoriaz architects. Surrounded by bay windows offering a panoramic view of the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse national park, the Roche Couloir pavilion has a large room with 120 m² of floor space, and a children's area. This room, particularly suitable for winter and summer weddings, can accommodate up to 120 people for cocktails, 50 people for a banquet (seated meal), and even more on the large adjoining terrace of 180 m². You can also enjoy a lounge area around the fireplace for a cocooning atmosphere. Since summer 2021, La Roche Couloir has opened “le Dôme”, between lawn, ferns and forest, a covered and potentially closed wooden cathedral for your secular ceremonies, cocktails, seated dinners for up to 120 people. Immersion in nature guaranteed! Unless you simply prefer a corner of lawn at the edge of the forest or even a corner of the woods!

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

In the heart of a dense and peaceful forest, this wedding took place in a timeless setting. The ceremony took place in a natural clearing, surrounded by trees and ferns, with the only backdrop being the play of light through the foliage. The atmosphere was simple and sincere, driven by refined aesthetic choices: raw wood, wildflowers, and natural materials. Dinner was served outdoors on large, convivial tables. As night fell, the forest was gently illuminated with garlands and lanterns, giving way to a festive and relaxed evening. A wedding both rooted in nature and faithful to the spirit of the place: authentic, warm, and without excess.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

My number one piece of advice for a couple starting their wedding planning? Delegate to your service providers. You've chosen professionals for their expertise, experience, and reliability: trust them. Too many couples want to control everything for fear of something slipping through their fingers, but this generates a lot of unnecessary stress. By clearly sharing your wishes from the start, you give them the tools to best support you. On the big day, your role isn't to check schedules or deliveries, but to fully experience each moment. Letting your service providers take care of things gives you the luxury of enjoying yourself. It also allows unforeseen events to be handled discreetly, without you having to worry about them. A good service provider anticipates, adapts, and resolves. So breathe, delegate... and enjoy.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

The personal touch that struck me the most was a collective speech from the guests, prepared in secret. Each loved one had a sentence to say, a memory to share, an anecdote to tell. The whole thing formed a multi-voiced story, funny, touching, and sincere. It was simple, without any staged effects, but deeply human. This moment created a truly shared emotion, a timeless interlude that reminded us that it's the connections and stories that make a wedding unforgettable.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Natural, elegant, warm, neat, timeless.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The best photo spot in our location is without a doubt the "star ceremony" in the heart of the forest, just before sunset. The light is soft and golden, filtered by the trees, creating an almost surreal atmosphere. It's a place that's both wild and poetic, perfect for natural, intimate, and luminous shots. It's also a slightly secluded spot where couples can slip away for a few moments, far from the hustle and bustle, for a moment together captured in complete simplicity.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Yes, but discretion obliges, we cannot always reveal names! What is certain is that our place attracts both artists and personalities from the business world, in search of a natural, preserved and confidential setting. What appeals is precisely this ability to welcome guests with elegance while remaining sheltered from prying eyes. A simple luxury, far from the spotlight, but conducive to beautiful moments.

What’s your favourite canapé?

It's hard to choose, but if you had to choose just one, it would be the crispy mini cone with salmon and lime tartare. Fresh, melt-in-your-mouth, and slightly tangy, it's a bite that always makes a statement. It combines simplicity and refinement, and immediately sets the mood for a successful cocktail. A real favorite—and often one of the first to disappear from the tray!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Without hesitation: a good thin apple tart, still warm, with a hint of salted butter caramel. It's a simple, comforting treat, but remains elegant when done well. It evokes childhood and Sundays spent with family... and is always a hit, even among the most discerning gourmets.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The most unique feature of our venue is undoubtedly the surrounding forest. It's not just a backdrop: it creates a unique, soothing, almost timeless atmosphere. You feel protected, enveloped by nature. It offers a multitude of possibilities: a ceremony in a clearing, a cocktail reception in the shade of the trees, photos bathed in natural light... It's a living space, changing with the seasons and making each event truly unique.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

What I'm most proud of is our team and the quality of the support we offer brides and grooms. Each member is fully committed to ensuring each couple feels listened to, understood, and supported with kindness, from the first conversation to the big day. This human connection, this availability, this ability to anticipate needs without ever imposing—that's what makes all the difference. We don't just sell a venue; we build a relationship of trust. And seeing the bride and groom experience their day serenely, knowing that we take care of everything behind the scenes, is our greatest pride.
