La Ferme de la Haute Maison is located on the site of a former Benedictine priory, built towards the end of the 10th century and now disappeared, itself probably built on the site of a Roman villa. It was in the 15th century that a watchtower was added to the farm, which still dominates the village of Saint Loup de Naud and its valley today.
At the beginning of the 19th century, a building used as a cow shed and granary was added to the south, thus closing the courtyard. The estate remained a farm until the 1970s, then remained abandoned for more than ten years, before being bought by the former owner.
The development of the Farm into guest rooms, gîte and reception room dates from 2004 when 5 rooms were built in the former granary of the building located to the south. Later, in 2009, the barn was converted into a reception room, and as an extension of this, the old stable was transformed into a rural gîte.
A place steeped in history, a stone's throw from the superb Romanesque church of Saint Loup de Naud, dating from the 11th/12th century, the Ferme de la Haute Maison has been given a new lease of life.
