What a fantastic weekend!
We got married on 09/08/18 at the Château de Valiquerville and it was simply perfect! What an exceptional place, we only had +++ feedback from our guests.
This place has many assets for a wedding with many guests (250 at the reception / 220 at the table):
- For the reception, beautiful exteriors and the possibility of renting the Clos Masure room (if rain). Note that the owner gave us carte blanche to install games on her lawn, bales of hay and a few pallets for a retro wedding. Few estates allow this!
- We were able to seat 220 people in the tithe barn for the meal with a large dance floor. What a sublime room! With the added bonus of no sound limiter and the possibility of turning off the music whenever you want, in this case 8am for us ;)!! (increasingly rare on properties of this standing, where you are often asked to turn off the music at 4-5am)
- A very friendly, flexible and accommodating owner. You just have to schedule things with her in advance and there are no surprises.
- Many negative comments point out the dirtiness of the kitchens and toilets, which is completely unfair. We had nothing to say about the cleanliness of the kitchens and no negative feedback from our caterer.
- Same feedback regarding the beds, nothing to complain about. We were able to accommodate 83 guests on the site, some in the stables and the other in the castle. Regarding the stables, we only had good feedback, especially regarding the quality of the mattresses. For the castle, some of the rooms are in their original condition, with a faded decor, but it is completely unfair to only remember that. Our room was clean and completely consistent with the price per person. Please note that the castle suffered water damage at the beginning of the year and work is underway. The state of some common areas under construction can be completely understood, you just have to show understanding and empathy. The owner is the only one to manage the entire estate.
- In addition: no problem with the electrical panel or the outdoor lighting as some comments may mention (and yet we had lantern garlands plugged into the electricity all evening in the room).
In conclusion, do NOT take into account the negative comments and book this exceptional place for your events. A word of advice however for snobbish and arrogant families: do not go to this magnificent place, you risk discrediting it and scaring away future brides and grooms!
A word to the wise! What a fantastic weekend!
