Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Oh, that’s such a hard one, we’ve had so many beautiful weddings out here at the Barn! But one that really stands out to me was a fall wedding in 2023.

The couple leaned into the season perfectly. Warm amber lighting, terracotta accents, and a floral installation that looked like it was growing right out of the beams. What made it the best, though, wasn’t just the decor; it was how intentional it felt. Every detail reflected their story: custom cocktails named after their pets, a delicious buffet dinner that brought everyone together, and a dance floor that didn’t empty once. You could just feel the joy radiating through the space.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Decide what actually matters to you, not what Pinterest or anyone else says you “should” do.

It’s so easy to get caught up in trends or expectations, but the weddings that feel the most effortless and memorable are the ones that reflect the couple’s personalities. If you two care more about great food and good music than formal traditions, lean into that! If you’re sentimental about family heirlooms or want to include your pets, make space for it.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One that’s really stuck with me was a couple who wrote personalized notes to every single guest. They tucked them under the dinner napkins, so when guests sat down, they found a handwritten message waiting for them, sometimes a funny memory, sometimes a heartfelt thank-you.

It completely changed the atmosphere in the room. People were smiling, laughing, even tearing up before dinner had even started. You could feel this ripple of warmth and connection through the whole space.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Rustic, romantic, warm, versatile, and unforgettable.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Honestly, my favourite photo spot is up on the mezzanine inside the barn. It overlooks the whole space - the string lights, the tables below, and when the photographer captures a couple up there, it feels so cinematic. You get that perfect mix of intimacy and grandeur all in one frame.

It’s also gorgeous during the first dance or golden hour when the light filters through the side door, there’s just something magical about seeing the whole celebration from that perspective.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Oh, definitely the poutine bar — it’s always a hit.

There’s just something about guests dancing their hearts out and then loading up a plate with crispy fries, gravy, and cheese curds that feels so right. It’s cozy, nostalgic, and gives everyone that second wind to keep the party going.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of how personal and genuine we keep every single event.

We’re not just handing over a space and saying, “Here you go”, we’re walking couples through the entire experience, helping them shape it into something that feels uniquely theirs. From the first tour to the last song of the night, our team genuinely cares about the details, the emotions, and the people behind each celebration.

And because we’re part of the Sky + Table Event Group, we get to offer this amazing synergy, incredible catering from LA Chefs, beautiful rentals from Lethbridge Event Rentals, all under one umbrella. It makes the planning process so much smoother, and couples can actually enjoy it.

So yeah, I’d say I’m proud that we don’t just host weddings, we help create memories that feel effortless, intentional, and totally unforgettable.
