It was a fantastic venue, the accommodation was neat and clean, and the rural location was great for a wedding and for wedding photos (and particularly the dunes backdrop). The staff were extremely helpful - even to the point of giving my sister and I a lift back to Newcastle airport (thank you Nell). Would thoroughly recommend the venue for a special event. The property is in a beautiful location among the trees and the sand dunes literally next door gave us a great backdrop for our photos. Having the ability to arrange all of our own catering and BYO booze saved us a lot of money. We loved having all of our guests stay on the property with us and it made for a great weekend getaway for all. The staff were so helpful and were always there to help if neededWe had our wedding here and it was AMAZING! We all had an absolutely fantastic time and were very impressed by the facilities and the staff. While at the wedding, I lost my phone and the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. When I got home 4 days later, I managed to track the phone back to the venue and the staff went searching for it and found it. They were very accommodating and mailed it back to me. I highly recommend this venue! We spent a weekend at The Retreat for my cousin's wedding the other week.
