Set on the slopes of the Franschhoek Valley, just a short walk from the village, L'Ermitage Château & Villas feels like a small French village of its own: cobbled lanes, fountains, manicured gardens and sweeping mountain and vineyard views. It is made for couples who want an intimate, elegant wedding where everything, from the ceremony to the last dance and the morning after, happens in one beautiful place.
Your day at L'Ermitage:
• Ceremony in our stained-glass, non-denominational chapel (40–45 guests) or on the lawn overlooking the lake (up to 60 guests)
• Reception in our reception venue or restaurant for up to 60 guests, with celebrations until midnight
• In-house catering: plated menus for smaller groups, buffets for 20+ guests, braai menus, harvest tables, gin tastings, dessert stations and a midnight grazing table
• A dedicated in-house wedding coordinator on site for 9 hours, plus waiters and barmen included
• Tables, linen, crockery, glassware, PA system, set-up, breakdown and cleaning all taken care of
• Luxury château suites, including a honeymoon suite, and one- to three-bedroom villas, so your guests can stay right where you celebrate
Choose from five packages, from a 2–4 guest elopement to day, lunch, village and hotel packages with accommodation. Add-ons include décor, flowers, a marriage officer, wedding cake, DJ, spa treatments, wine tasting, a grooms' den, a wood-fired hot tub and our own shuttle service.

How many guests can you host?
Up to 60 guests. The chapel seats 40–45, and the lakeside lawn, reception venue and restaurant each hold up to 60. For couples who want something smaller, our elopement package is for 2–4 people.
Can we have our ceremony and reception in the same place?
Yes. You can marry in our non-denominational chapel or on the dam-facing lawn, then move a few steps to the reception venue or restaurant. Nobody needs to drive anywhere.
Do you offer accommodation for us and our guests?
Yes. We have luxury château suites, including a honeymoon suite, and one- to three-bedroom villas with kitchens and balconies or terraces. Our Hotel Package includes accommodation for the couple and guests.
Is catering done in-house?
Yes, everything is cooked by our own kitchen. Groups under 20 have plated menus and larger groups have buffets, each in Standard, Luxury and Executive options. A braai menu is also available. Canapés, harvest tables, gin tastings, dessert stations and a midnight grazing table can all be added.
What's included in your packages?
Venue and chapel hire, tables and chairs, white tablecloths, crockery, cutlery and glassware, waiters and barmen, a PA system and microphone, a projector or 70" screen, Wi-Fi, set-up, breakdown, cleaning and an in-house wedding coordinator for 9 hours. Some of these are not included in the elopement package.
Will we have a dedicated coordinator?
Yes. Our in-house wedding coordinator is with you on site for 9 hours on the day and works alongside our team to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Can we dance, and what time does the party end?
Our Village and Hotel packages run until midnight, with last rounds at the bar at 23:45. The Day and Lunch packages are quieter celebrations without dancing.
Can you help with décor, flowers and other suppliers?
Yes. We work with a hand-picked group of trusted suppliers and can arrange décor, flowers, a marriage officer, wedding cake, a DJ, stationery, a mobile bar, lounge furniture and an organist (subject to availability).
Do you offer extras for the couple and guests?
Yes. Options include spa treatments, wine tasting, family get-to-know-you activities, a grooms' den, a wood-fired hot tub, a romantic turn-down with a charcuterie board, and our own shuttle service.
Can we visit before we book?
Of course. Site visits are by appointment. Send us an enquiry and we'll find a time that suits you. We'll also send our options form so we can prepare a full, personalised quote.
