Jembisa specialises in safari weddings. The two main lodges can sleep up to 24 people and additional accommodation (sleeping a further 24 guests) is available in our bush cottages that are scattered over the game reserve. The lodge is small and stylishly relaxed resulting in a wonderful atmosphere for a wedding.
There is a choice of where the wedding ceremony can be held. We have a stunning deck overlooking the river, which is a popular choice, or for a more formal setting it can be held at the lodge or for true simplicity under a romantic canopy in the bush or under a shady tree.
On arrival at Jembisa you and your guests will be greeted by our team and served a welcome drink on the veranda before being shown your bedrooms. On the first evening you and your guests will enjoy your first game drive in open 4x4 land rovers and stop in the middle for sundowners at sunset rocks.
Plans for your wedding ceremony will be discussed with you and the lodge manageress the following morning and you will be able to choose the location and make any last minute preparations. Generally the plans will all have been decided by you ahead of your arrival. You may also wish to meet with the marriage officer who will be conducting the ceremony.
The Big Day
On the wedding day you may choose to have breakfast in bed. The bridal couple will be transported in a specially decorated safari vehicle to or from the location.
You will be able to choose your menu for the celebratory meal which can either be a lunch or dinner. This will be a special occasion with fabulous food and you may choose to have a local African choir or dancers.
