What is your most memorable wedding?
Simon & Luisa - Luisa's friends contacted us and let us know of her situation. She was terminal and had only a few weeks to live. She wanted to get married so we offered to film it for free. It was a very happy but also an emotional day and Ed Sheeran even sent in a video to congratulate the couple. We got to work editing it fast over Xmas so that Luisa could watch her special day back. Her feedback made doing the wedding worthwhile and all of us involved were happy that she got to see it.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Cinematic.
Emotive.
Elegant.
Professional!
Unique!
What about your business are you most proud of?
By offering our unique professional style mixed with film it yourself. We value our customers and invest twice as much back in them if they decide to book with us. The reason no other company offers this is because of the sheer amount of footage to edit, but that doesn't phase us! We will work hard and long hours to maintain our service and reputation...I guess that's what you have to do to be a truly unique company.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
As the old saying goes, "if you buy cheap, you buy twice" - but you can't afford to do that on your wedding day especially with video as there are NO RETAKES. Book with a team that are experienced and know what they're doing. If video and photo is not important to you though, you can always get a friend or relative to do it if they know how to shoot a wedding and edit it together...but the chances are, that as the years go by you'll just wish that you invested safely in the photos and videos as they are the things that will outlast everything else from the wedding apart from the rings...(and your love for each other of course)
Book your videographer / photographer first ASAP (I know that sounds bias) but it really is one of the few things besides your wedding rings that will last you your life time after all the years have passed. Videography and photography is very important to a special day.
What is the most exciting thing you have caught on camera?
There's no single moment if honest as every wedding has had equally beautiful moments by their own merit. For example some of the Marryoke's we've done have been hilarious. We had a groom crying in during the vows ceremony which was genuinely heart warming....oddly we had a groom sprain his ankle during a Hindu ceremony which meant he couldn't walk for the rest of the wedding!
What is your favourite soundtrack to put to a wedding video?
Again, there's no specific favourite. I get to know my couples and understand their music taste and their story...from this, the soundtrack to their life composes itself in the film.... either that or they tell me their favourite song and I make it work :)
Describe how you got into videography.
As a trained journalist, I developed into a TV Director and Producer working on some of the biggest shows in the country. I film weddings because I feel at peace when I have a camera in my hands to film, and footage on my computer that I have to edit. My spare time is spent making films, whether they're corporate, home movies or TV...it's my life. Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life as they say. I genuinely love my job.
