Description
This magnificent Grade II listed, thatched barn is in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside where we offer tradition, tranquillity and a totally unique location for your wedding receptions.
The barn itself boasts original 400 year old oak beams spanning the width of the building and emphasising the enormous vaulted roof, all adorned with fairy lights. The glazed oak entrance allows light to flood in whilst the slotted windows are all subtly glazed. We have even had a bar built from timbers taken from the roof that needed replacing! To top it all the stunning thatched roof, which keeps the barn cool in the summer, makes this a truly magical venue.
Due to the size of the barn, the minimum number of guests would need to be 30 and we can seat up to 100 for the wedding breakfast.
Set on a working farm, the Heritage award winning barn is situated beside crops of wheat, beans, lavender, wild flowers and daffodils, all providing a splendid backdrop for photographs, depending on the time of year you visit.
Our modern facilities include a fully fitted kitchen, licensed bar and car parking.

From the moment we booked our wedding, we knew we were in the safest possible hands, but the way they delivered on the day exceeded everything we could have hoped for. The venue looked absolutely stunning, and the flowers were beautiful. Sanchia went above and beyond, from organising all the flowers beforehand and personally hand-delivering the bridesmaids' flowers, to working incredibly long hours and helping dismantle everything at the end so our crew could collect everything at 11am the following morning. The amount of work and care she put in was truly outstanding. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They worked tirelessly all day and night and didn't stop! We had so many of our guests comment on how amazing, friendly and attentive everyone was. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and everything was done so efficiently and effortlessly. What we loved most was that we genuinely didn't have to worry about a thing. The team worked brilliantly alongside our wedding planner and Master of Ceremonies, and the whole day flowed so smoothly. We were able to concentrate on what our wedding was really about — laughing, eating, drinking and spending precious time with all the people we love. We had family and friends travelling from South Africa, Canada, Ireland, Lancashire, Essex, Bournemouth and many places in between, so having everyone together was incredibly special to us. To be able to enjoy every moment without the stress and worry you so often hear about with weddings was honestly a dream. And the perfect ending? After everyone had left, we were able to sit down with Sanchia and the team, our wedding planner and our Master of Ceremonies and have a few drinks together. 🥰 It was such a lovely, lively ending to an absolutely perfect day and gave us the chance to properly say thank you. The venue was absolutely beautiful and you can decorate it as much or as little as you want and it will still look stunning! A stones throw from the stunning Holy Cross church, we walked just across the road to the beautiful barn providing a slick transition from service to reception. Sanchia and her team were simply amazing in creating a welcoming atmosphere to us and all of our guests and helped immensely in advising us on schedules for the day and the finer details. Having access to the Barn the day before and after the wedding meant that we had ample time to set up and collect and our needs were fully catered for in terms of table arrangements, decorative features and catering. We cannot recommend The Thatch Barn enough for future couples wanting the perfect venue. From start to finish Sanchia and her team were absolutely incredible - nothing was ever a silly question and she helped us so much on every step of the way including the planning process. I can honestly say I was a stress free bride! The Thatch Barn is the most beautiful venue and we can not recommend it enough. From the views, the beautiful barn and the perfect church location across the road (if you're thinking of having a church wedding, this is also ideal!). We had the most relaxed, beautiful wedding day all thanks to The Thatch Barn and could not have asked for anything different. They organised absolutely everything on the day/evening that we were just left to enjoy ourselves and not give anything a seconds thought. It’s simple, elegant and creates such a romantic relaxed atmosphere. We were given the opportunity to explore the grounds and take some amazing photos which also gave us an opportunity to escape and enjoy some bride and groom time.
