We had a superb wedding experience at the Intercontinental Edinburgh Hotel, in spite of the additional complexities of Covid-19. The organisation and planning of the wedding was seamless and the Events team super helpful. We felt at ease and in great hands throughout the run up to the wedding. Our wedding day was a magical occasion. The venue looked wonderful and the staff could not have been more attentive. All of our guests had a special time and particularly loved the food. We’re extremely pleased that we chose The George for our Big Day and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it to others looking to create an extra-special occasion.

Stepping into the Grand Hall at the Intercontinental the George Edinburgh for the first time confirmed our search for a wedding venue was complete! Even without any wedding decor, there in its simplicity it was stunning! Working with Lauren, planning and organising our day was easy and enjoyable and nothing was too much to ask. That attentative and caring nature spread across the whole staff and we generally just felt welcomed on every visit and onto the big day itself! All the staff really went above and beyond for us and made our guests feel relaxed and special. As for the food, what can I say, from our first bite on our menu tasting to the last on the wedding day itself, not only did it look fantastic but tasted delicious too. Overall, a fantastic venue and we couldn't have imagined being married anywhere else. We hope to be back to celebrate our 1st Anniversary next year.

We honestly cannot thank Lauren, Gemma and the rest of the team at the hotel for everything they done to make sure we had the most perfect day. From start to finish, we couldn’t have asked for more. The continuous support, communication, suggestions and excitement shared from all! Everything was honestly perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing. The team really made our dream wedding a reality. Any questions were answered to the full, any personal requests were fulfilled, nothing was a problem or too difficult to provide. We really are so grateful and thankful and would recommend the hotel for anyone thinking of having their wedding or function. We just wish we could do it all over again!

Let me just start by saying, you guys smashed it out of the park. We couldn't have asked for anything more. From how personal the service was leading up to it to everything going perfectly on the day I literally have nothing but praise for Lauren and Gemma and the rest of the team. You guys made us feel so comfortable through the pain that was reorganising this wedding 2x through the pandemic. Everyone we've spoken to has nothing but praise for the beautiful venue, the food, the staff, and we have only you guys to thank for that. My wife and I had our wedding here last week and we definitely had the best day of our lives!!! This was all thanks to Oskar and his team at the hotel!! He has been amazing this whole year when we have been planning our special day and on the day Oskar and Kamile were amazing at keeping us both calm and making sure we didn't see each other on the run up to the ceremony. We felt like nothing at all was a bother to any of the staff and even when my little nephew fell and hurt his mouth the day before they came to the room to check on him and the concierge service was amazing too. The little touches in the room for the children was amazing and my 4 year old niece was so happy with her little toys. The breakfast in the hotel was really lovely and we had our own private room for our guests the day after which was amazing. All our guests have and still are commenting on how great the day was and how beautiful the hotel is. We would very highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married in the future and Oskar as a wedding coordinator. Thanks again to you all for making our day extra special we really appreciate everything.

We would like to thank you most sincerely for the wonderful reception you organised for Georgina & Ken at the Principal. We were delighted with every part, from the very beginning to the next day when we collected all our accessories from the Dundas room. Our whole experience from you and your team, from the initial booking, until we checked out on the Sunday morning was superb. Throughout the planning and on the day we felt well looked after by everyone we came across and their patience, assistance and courtesy throughout was well received. We particularly appreciated being notified when individuals were finishing their shift and handing over as it clearly identified to us who to speak to should we have any issues. During the tasting day we felt well looked after and your attention to detail during the final planning meeting the week before assured our confidence that the day would run smoothly and prompted us to think of things we simply hadn’t. The night before and on the day it was clear that everyone (from doormen to managers) knew what to do and their aim was to ensure our day was as stress free as possible. All our guests commented on the quality of the food and the venue. Everyone was impressed with the service and I heard only compliments about the food, please pass on my regards to the kitchen team and the table staff. Sarah and I would like to express our thanks again for you and your team’s efforts in providing such a memorable day for us and would kindly ask you to pass it on to everyone that was involved.

The team at the Principal Edinburgh George Street were absolutely amazing. If I'm honest I wasn't too sure what to expect on the lead up but everyone has been so accommodating. You have been amazing at keeping everything under control and organised. The service at dinner was spectacular and on point. Each member of staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with was so welcoming and courteous. I would particularly like to thank yourself and George for making this a stress free day. You are both a treasure to the hotel. You have always been quick to reply on the lead up. Your communication has been great. There were no issues whatsoever! And your organisational skills were brilliant. Even when we were running late you made everything smooth. Every time I spoke to George throughout the evening he was calm and collected and just fabulous. There was so much going on and so the pressure was on and George held it down like a pro!!! You are both amazing gentlemen. The food was amazing and so thanks to the Chef for that. Christos was also amazing as well as Ansten who helped is out with our luggage. The overall customer service was fantastic and I would not have chosen another venue. It was perfect!!!! Thank you all so much for making our day special, stress free and above all thank you for your great service and making us feel welcome. I had never came across such great customer service before!! And such an amazing kind people!!!

Where do we start? We had the most fantastic, amazing, magical day we cannot thank Oskar and the staff enough. It went perfectly and the service was second to none. No wonder you win awards every guest at the wedding said it was the best wedding they have ever been too and they have been to a good few weddings between them all. I wish we could do it all over again I will be shouting from the roof tops on recommendations to anyone I know getting married in the future. From the second we booked the wedding through Hana who provided first class service to then be taken over by Oskar when Hana went on maternity leave. Everything was in great hands and all taken care off without any confusion with our new wedding co-ordinator. Nothing was too much trouble and I truly believe we would never have had a day like I did on Saturday 20th May if I had our wedding anywhere else. We will certainly be back on anniversaries the Principal Hotel will always be very special to us.
