Tucked away on a picturesque working farm just 30 minutes from the heart of Cambridge and bordering the wild beauty of historic Wicken Fen, Spinney Abbey offers a truly unique setting for your wedding.
Once an Augustinian monastery built in 1216, our rustic barn and charming courtyard have witnessed centuries of gatherings, celebrations, and love stories. Now, it’s your turn to be part of the history.
Your Day, Your Way
Our beautiful dry-hire venue accommodates up to 130 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 175 guests for an evening celebration under the stars. Whether you’re dreaming of a rustic countryside feast, a chic boho party, or a candlelit banquet, Spinney Abbey is the perfect blank canvas to bring your vision to life.

- 100 elegant cross-back chairs + 20 wooden trestle tables

Spinney Abbey is a thriving family farm producing award-winning English Longhorn beef and Gloucester Old Spots pork for our on-site farm shop. The Fullers have been farming At Spinney Abbey for 5 generations and in the parish for 10 generations.
With its rich history, working farm charm, and versatile spaces, The Barn at Spinney Abbey is more than just a venue—it’s a place where memories are made and stories are shared for generations.

The venue is surrounded by views over green fields, filled with roaming animals in the distance and even pigs, goats a horse and donkeys close to hand. The farm has barns filled with old machinery creating the feeling of nostalgia and history. As a wedding venue, the main old cow yard is decorated with lighting, showing off a bar area, stage and open area to dance the night away. This incidentally is surrounded by areas of comfortable retro furniture. The gathering hall is within an old barn with a magnificent timber framed beamed roof. It’s like a scene from an old medieval feast hall that can only make you smile and enjoy yourself. An absolutely amazing venue which created so many happy memories that we have decided to get married there ourselves… So take a minute and look it up!!Spinney Abbey!! Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
We have a few - we've done pics with farm animals, in front of straw bales, in fields, near our small pond or in front of large tractor wheels.
