Facilities and Capacity
Originally built as a Bishop's Palace in 1714, Soughton Hall was renovated to an impressive degree in the 1800s by Sir Charles Barry. Under the famed British architect's guidance, the property received a facelift on par with his other great works—most notably the Houses of Parliament and Downton Abbey's Highclere Castle. Today, you can relish the luxury of hiring this cherished property on an exclusive-use basis, allowing your guests the freedom of savouring the hotel and gardens in their entirety. The venue can cater for weddings between 20 and 300 guests in its various event spaces, including the stunning gardens and permanent marquee space. Licensed for civil ceremonies, the property offers outdoor and indoor ceremony options or a selection of lovely local churches if you desire a more traditional wedding.

They have a strict policy of only hosting one wedding at a time, allowing you to receive their undivided attention every step of the way. There are no rules, set numbers or required packages at this family-owned property, just a team of wedding coordinators eager to help you design the day of your dreams, from red carpet arrival to Champagne turndown. The team highly advise booking a viewing of the hall, where they are confident the driveway alone will blow you away.

We had such a magical wedding day not only because of the beautiful setting, but also because of the amazing staff. Our superstar coordinator Chloe made sure we had everything we needed and kept things running smoothly on the day. As we had to plan the wedding from overseas, it was such a relief knowing that we were in safe hands, and that Soughton Hall offered so much with our package - drinks, food, DJ, you name it! From morning bridal prep to the last dance of the night, everything was picture perfect. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food and said it was the best meal they’ve ever had at a wedding. And in fact some went so far as to say they fear they’ll never go to a wedding that great ever again! We’ll always remember Soughton Hall not just for how stunning it is, but for how cared for we felt. It was the best decision we made for our wedding. From the moment we first viewed the venue right through to the very last dance, the hall and the team behind it exceeded every expectation we had. A huge thank you to Erin, who was incredible in helping us plan every detail of the day. We know she works with many couples all at the same time, but she never once made us feel like just another wedding in the diary. She was always attentive, approachable, and genuinely made us feel like our day was just as important to her as it was to us. Her professionalism, patience, and guidance made the entire planning process not only stress-free, but actually enjoyable. Having someone so reliable and reassuring on our side was invaluable, and we are so grateful for the care she put into everything. On the big day itself, Cheryl was absolutely outstanding. She ran the day seamlessly, keeping everything on track while still allowing the atmosphere to feel relaxed and natural. We didn’t have to worry about a single detail because Cheryl had it all under control, and that meant we could be fully present and enjoy every moment with our family and friends. Every room was very stylish and ornate and very clean. Of course being so old there were a few creaky floor boards and doors along with hard to open windows but the luxury of the place far outweighed it's faults. Top notch food especially the breakfast not to mention the positive and professional staff.. loved it !!!Attended my son's wedding reception here and was blown away by the place. When you book your wedding at Soughton you are ensuring that your day will be seamless and elegant. Each meeting with Kayleigh (our wedding planner) was welcoming and informative. The grounds and the house are stunning and so very cosy. Each corner of the property is a beautiful photo opportunity.My husband and I married at Soughton Hall in North Wales last October and we couldn't have possibly wished for a better venue. On the day everything was perfect. The food and service were fantastic. The rooms that family and guests stayed in were exquisite. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff.
