Minstrel Court is a lovingly restored Tudor manor on the borders of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire, set in six acres of landscaped grounds with a private lake and stunning countryside views. Whether you dream of a lakeside marquee, a grand beamed barn celebration or an intimate ceremony, our venue blends historic character with contemporary comfort.
We offer two licensed, enclosed and heated ceremony pavilions — one looking out across the lake and a beamed Orangery overlooking Wimpole Meadows — so you can exchange vows in beautiful surroundings whatever the weather. For receptions and dancing choose our listed three-storey Tudor Barn (seating for up to 140) or a marquee overlooking the water, plus our Starlit Hall for live music and entertainment. New for this season, our illuminated Lounge Bar sits adjacent to the Starlit Hall so guests can relax without shouting over the disco.
Minstrel Court operates as a dry-hire venue, giving you the freedom to personalise your day. To make planning easier we’ve partnered with a trusted local caterer and offer fully flexible packages that can be tailored or upgraded to suit your requirements — from reception-only to full civil ceremonies. Our experienced wedding team will be with you from first enquiry to the departure of your last guest to ensure everything runs smoothly.

We're Na'ím and Sara, owners of Minstrel Court — and once a couple here too! We got married at Minstrel Court and instantly knew it was the place. It stole our hearts, and still does every single day. That’s why we do what we do — it’s not just a job; we feel so lucky to now help other couples experience that same magic.

Minstrel Court offers two beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces — the Lake Pavilion and the Orangery — both set against the stunning backdrop of our tranquil lake and landscaped grounds. We also have six versatile indoor spaces, including the Marquee, Tudor Barn, Starlit Hall, Bar, and Bridal Salon, allowing us to host weddings of various sizes and styles, all year round.
Couple and guest accommodation is available at an additional cost.

The garden was open enough to give your guests space to wander, with the added scenery provided by the lake; but still small enough to give the intimate vibe that we were going for. The venue owners, Sara and Na’ím, were very understanding and accommodating to our requests/opinions which really helped everything flow a lot more smoothly! The venue’s event manager, Amber, was the real superstar on the day! She has a wealth of experience in the events industry and worked tirelessly to get the venue ready for our wedding, going above and beyond her remit to make sure we had the best day! Her merits don’t stop there - she’s also a cake maker and baked us two fruit cakes which are currently going down a treat, so a huge thank you to Amber 😊 With our wedding being the first under the venue’s new management, it was expected that there would be teething issues and risks taken on by both parties. One thing I would recommend is ongoing, open communication when changes are being made to the venue to keep everyone in the loop. This won’t be necessary once the venue renovations are complete, but we did visit a couple of times and changes had been made to the venue which we had no idea about - they ended up looking great, but it did give us a bit of a shock 😅. However, management were open to hearing our feedback throughout which was encouraging and showed their commitment to making our wedding (and future events) a success. Overall, we can tell that the venue is going to look absolutely incredible with all the plans management has for it. Truth be told, the only reason we’ve given 4 stars and not 5 is because we’re a little gutted we didn’t get to fully enjoy the renovations. That being said, we still had a very special day as Minstrel Court already has a natural charm and beauty to it. Minstrel Court, and specifically Amber who I was in contact with, have been nothing but generous and helpful. I genuinely felt like everyone on board was excited for my special day, and they worked above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect. In terms of venue, the lake pavilion looked like something out of a fairy-tale, the entire ground is extremely pretty and a very romantic setting. Dave made sure everything smoothly and the grounds looked beautiful! All staff were friendly and helpful. The garden is stunning, the Regency barn provided a charismatic backdrop for our wedding breakfast and the Long Gallery came alive with the band and LED dance floor. So glad we also upgraded to garden games and bouncy castle for the kids, finished by the firework display. The biggest compliment was that so many guests said the wedding venue felt like our own! That really is the beauty of this place. The food was also very good. Highly recommend, especially if you are looking to host a family-friendly wedding! Finally just to praise the venue for a hassle-free postponing and rearranging due to Covid. Made the day stress-free and even more special when it finally came. We hired the house so I could stay with my bridesmaids the night before and we were able to get ready together in the bridal salon 🤩 it was such a special experience I felt like such a princess. We also hired the house for the night of wedding so me and the groom and our close family got to stay in luxury all together enjoying the hot tub at midnight! The added touch of the rental properties out the front of the house were also a great touch for our wedding as we had family who booked themselves in for the night of the wedding Waking at the venue the day after wedding was just beautiful sipping my tea while sat by the lake it was picture perfect The wedding venue was absolutely stunning which was commented on by most guests. Everything you need is all on same grounds which makes for a even more perfect day with just a walk from the beautiful pavilion where we had our ceremony to the wedding venue where our celebrations began The staff were amazing there was nothing they couldn’t sort for us they really made it so smooth flowing for us especially Teri and Frank such a great team I could not think of anywhere else I would like to get married their touch was personal and professional!
