Llanhilleth Miners Institute stands as a testament to the heart of a community. Built during a time of industrial growth, this iconic building served as a vital hub for the local mining community. Its imposing structure, a blend of traditional and industrial architecture, reflects the era’s spirit of resilience and unity. Today, while its purpose has evolved, our historic Grade II listed building retains its original charm, offering a unique and historic setting for modern celebrations.
It is a captivating venue steeped in history and character, expertly restored to its former glory. Nestled in the enchanting Ebbw Fach Valley, our Grade II listed building provides a stunning, authentically Welsh wedding venue for your special day. Since its reopening in 2008 the Institute has accommodated a vast number of weddings for couples getting married who are looking for something a little bit different. With a range of flexible rooms to cater for intimate ceremonies, up to 120+ guest banquet style wedding breakfasts, we have the perfect blend of facilities for anyone getting married.

Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Llanhilleth Miners Institute offers a range of affordable, all-inclusive wedding packages designed to make the process smooth and enjoyable. Each package includes exclusive use of the building, a dedicated Wedding Coordinator, elegant décor like white rose tree welcomes and staircase decorations, and the option for a VIP red carpet entrance. Door security is also included for peace of mind.
Diamond Package
Perfect for couples wanting a luxury experience, this includes a civil ceremony in the Ebbw Fawr Suite, a three-course Wedding Breakfast, drinks (welcome, toasts, wine), evening buffet, Resident DJ, cinema projector, and access to heated outdoor patio areas. Minimum: 60 day and 80 evening guests.
Ruby Package
Similar to Diamond but without the ceremony space. Includes three-course meal, welcome drinks, wine, toast drinks, evening buffet, DJ, and access to patio areas. Ideal for couples holding the ceremony elsewhere. Same guest minimum as Diamond.
Twilight Package
Designed for later-in-the-day weddings. Includes an evening civil ceremony, welcome drink, buffet, DJ, PA system, and use of the Ebbw Fawr Suite. Perfect for romantic, relaxed evening celebrations. Minimum: 80 guests.
Pearl Package
The most budget-friendly option. Includes Bucks Fizz on arrival, evening buffet, DJ, bar, patio access, and all essential décor. Great for party-style celebrations without a formal meal or ceremony. Minimum: 80 guests.

Amber who was the person organising everything for us nothing was too much trouble for her not even when I was changing things or asking her to stop my guests going upstairs on arrival so I could do a balloon release or when two extra guests arrived for food but she sorted it straight away. The venue is beautiful and I had no stress they decorated the room beautifully and was more than I could of imagined Any thing I asked was done no matter how big or small We honestly cannot recommend this place enough thank you so much for making our special day so amazingWe recently had our wedding reception at the institute and I honestly can not recommend them enough from the very first meeting until even after our wedding day they were amazing. Communication with our co ordinater from the very first meeting until the very end was outstanding, so friendly and approachable, no idea was a bad idea and she was extremely flexible, working with us and ensuring our big day was everything we wanted it to be. For us it was important we could trust our venue to create our dream, and bring our ideas to life, as we had little time between comming home and our special day, the staff at the institute arranged everything perfectly, exactly as we had discussed and even threw in a few little surprises which really made it feel personal and bought plenty of smiles. We were so happy with the whole experience and we really can not thank institute enough, I could rave on and on about how amazing it was. As we said in our first meeting we, wanted to bring a touch of the carribean to Wales with our decor and colour scheme and the institute helped us do just that. We would highly recommend the llanhilleth miners institute to any couple that want a personal, stress free experience with everything you could ask for, nothing was too much trouble and it was great value for money. Nothing was too much trouble for the team and the food and disco was fantastic. We used their DJ and fair to say Carl was fantastic and the bar staff and security were great. I would highly recommend if you want a wedding in one place like we did. This is the place to hire 100% from Mr and Mrs Lewis.We held our wedding here recently and from booking the wedding to the wedding day, we received fantastic service from Amber and Liam.
