On Wednesday 21st June we are delighted to be hosting a Wedding Open Evening between 6pm – 8pm. Please book your free tickets via our website.
Nestled in 800 acres of idyllic English countryside the 17th century stately home and gardens have been lovingly restored to combine the best of Jacobean splendour with an unmistakably contemporary feel, alongside spectacular and award-winning avant-garde event spaces.
From The Coach House, with its enormous oak doors and musician’s gallery, providing a versatile haven for civil ceremonies to drinking champagne amongst the scented borders overlooking the landscape, every view, every structure is imbued with history and refinement.
Juxtaposed alongside the timeless backdrop of the Hall, the contemporary structures of L’Écurie and the Tack come together to engender the most unique of atmospheres. The Tack - used for reception drinks - and L’Écurie – where the wedding breakfast takes place - are spectacular spaces suitable for all manner of celebrations, flamboyant or modest, large or more intimate.
In terms of accommodation, upwards of 22 guests (and looking at growing this number shortly!) can stay on the premises. The Bridal Suite, designed for King James I, has beautiful plasterwork, wood panelling, magnificent views and a fabulous dressing room. Aside from the five bedrooms inside the Hall there are also several cottages available. They blend some fascinating historical features with all the modern amenities.
Finally, an unforgettable culinary experience, as well as meticulously appointed bedrooms complement the surroundings, not to mention the most dedicated and passionate team harnessing your vision (to ensure the most magical of days).

- PPriya & Paul09/07/2023Wedding July 2023Wedding July 2023We chose Dorfold because we wanted somewhere beautiful and classic. It is the perfect mix of old and new: a Jacobean house with a long, grand drive and L’Ecurie which is is a modern barn cum great hall with beautiful wood and marble mixed in with the exposed brick from the former stables that stood there in years gone by. As a venue it is the kind of place you can dress up or leave as it is, which we really liked. It’s bright, airy and has a double height ceiling. There is a dance floor area and bar within L’Ecurie and it opens out onto a courtyard with fire pits which you can use in the evening. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of places for great photos like the lake, old oak tree and the meadow. One of the great things about Dorfold is the team - Abigail was great at making sure we had everything we needed and providing guidance on planning the day. The attention to detail was also something to commend the whole team at Dorfold on. Whether it’s moving people from the ceremony venue (you can have this in the Coach House or outside on the lawn if weather permits) to helping you with table planning and layout - they’re on hand and were always easy to get hold of. They have a document which you fill in collaboratively to make sure nothing is forgotten from breakfast choices the next day to what decorations you want on your cake and how much you would like cutting up. Dorfold have a list of suppliers they recommend and all those we used, without exception, were spectacular. It really helped the suppliers had worked with the venue because they were able to give us ideas on what works well and also have a good relationship with the team which meant everything ran smoothly on the day. You have allocated suppliers for food and drink but they were both really great and offer a bespoke service so you can tailor things to your individual requirements. We’ve had loads of positive feedback on the catering and drinks so they certainly went down well with our guests. We can’t thank Dorfold enough; it honestly was the dream venue and the perfect day. Although we might be a little biased we’ve had quite a few people tell us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to! The atmosphere was just so warm and if you’re looking for an elegant venue with a ‘wow factor’ then Dorfold is certainly the one. The gardens are glorious and they have everything you could need. The staff at the venue are just fabulous and will do whatever they can to make your day perfect - Abigail was our coordinator and she was just brilliant and we also met Zoe on the Sunday and she was so helpful and kind also. We couldn’t recommend this as a venue more if we tried! Dorfold Hall is a stunning venue with a perfect balance of old and new features. The gardens are glorious and they have everything you could need.
