What is your most memorable wedding?
Other than my own :) I'd have to say the wedding of Kerry & John Gray in April 2015. The details the bride asked us to put into our designs was amazing, from the map table plan to an over sized polaroid to use as a photo prop. I ended up helping with the flowers too as time ran out for the bride to finish them herself which was a challenge but fantastic!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Quirky, detailed, personal, fun & fashionable.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Starting from scratch and working up to where we are now.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Prioritise! Especially your budget, most suppliers will be able to design/move things around to suit your budget without losing the style you were hoping for.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
There are 2 weddings that stand out...
One where the grooms parents made their favours, various alcohols, sloe gin, raspberry vodka etc and another where the bride hosted a 'Great Wedding Bake Off' and asked guests to bring a cake along, more than half the guests brought a cake, it was amazing!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We usually meet at a wedding fayre or at a consultation (sometimes over the phone)
Then we chat about their style and ideas - this typically involves pinterest!
Then we discuss budget and prices - we always work around a budget, there are lots we can do to reduce cost if needed.
Then we take a desposit (approx 50%) and we start work on their proofs, these are computer illustrations to scale of everything they order.
We go back and forth over email until the proofs are approved.
Once approved and final balance paid, the invitations take around 3 weeks to be dispatched.
The customer sends out their invitations and wait eagerly for the RSVPs!
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
My favourite wedding again was the Travel themed wedding with the non cliche hints to travel.
What is your best seller?
The travel theme isn't going anywhere, and using foil with rustic detailing.
What is the most innovative delivery method you have come across?
Lace! I am originally a lingerie and nightwear designer so have a fondness for lace!
We also seem to get through a lot of vintage brown twine!
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
The lovely couple, the rest can be worked around their style and personalities! It's great to see someone thinking outside the box!
