What is your most memorable wedding?
They are all memorable, but I would say the one for don't tell the bride was definitely the one that stands out. Getting to see behind the scenes and work with such an amazing groom will remain with me for many many years.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, relaxed, personal, humorous, professional.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Building it up to what it is now, to going from one wedding to being almost fully booked and for being able to ensure that my couples are my priority by not taking on more than 2 weddings a month.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember you are in it together. This day marks the beginning of the rest of your life. Keep talking and you won't go far wrong.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
At one ceremony we will have a box of hearts with key dates on which the couples children will put in at the ceremony leaving plenty of room for more happy memories to be entered going forward. This is extra special because it's made by the bride and groom.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
First of all we chat either on the phone or via skype to make sure we are a good fit and that you like me. Then once booked, I send you a little bit of fun homework and then we meet up (if possible) and go through everything, so I can get to know you. I then right the ceremony and send it through to you for any amendments or changes. You can make as many changes as you want, you can add things, take things out. It's got to be right for you.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
I had to plan a 40th birthday party with a ceremony in the middle of it, which was an ode to lost youth. That wasn't the unusual thing though. I had to do the whole thing dressed as Madame Thernadier from Les Miserables as it was a musical themed party
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
I'm always at the end of the phone to offer as much help as I can. After 20 years working in the industry in one way or another if I don't know an answer I know someone who will!
What do you love most about your job?
Talk. It's about both of you...
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
Hmmm, tough one but got to be either the first time a couple sees each other, or the vows. Or anything involving children or animals. I like living on the edge.....
