What about your business are you most proud of?
Our business growth over the last 10 years. From starting out building a successful side-gig... Walker McCabe is now an established an successful business with a sister company and an engaged following of clients. We love the clients we work with, most of which never thought they'd be "photoshoot" types... and now adore the memories we've curated together.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Let everyone else do the leg-work and relax. Make a spreadsheet, organise, plan, schedule - let all of your suppliers and friends know exactly what you want... allow them make the magic happen.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We shot a farm wedding a few years ago where one of the Brides was an alpaca farmer with an alpaca wool knitwear company. Cat decided to have her favourite alpaca as the ring bearer during her's and Beth's ceremony at the farm, and he did a fabulous job of bringing the rings down the aisle around his neck on a necklace!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We start off by seeing if we're a match for each other, either with a face-to-face or virtual meeting. Once we've confirmed your booking by exchanging a contract and deposit, the planning begins! You receive your own Walker McCabe PlanApp and we continue to communicate up until your Wedding to ensure we're on the same page allowing you to enjoy every moment on the day. Following your Wedding, you'll get a sneak peak gallery within 48 hours to share with friends, and we can put your Thank You cards straight to print. You'll receive your full gallery within 6 weeks, with album design and print ordering available at this point, to be delivered in your final package with your keepsake wooden USB.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A moment away from the busyness to breathe it all in... that moment of pure happiness where you feel totally completed will 100% stay with you forever. We're all about enriching your experience, not distracting from it.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
We were once asked by a Bride (on the Wedding Day, after a few drinks...) to shoot her in the honeymoon suite tub as a secret for the images to later arise in the Wedding gallery for her new husband.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Relax and let us direct you. We're not going to put you in any position that you're not comfortable with and will have absolutely no issues with getting incredible images of your day... rain or shine!
Describe how you got into photography.
I've always been creative at heart and naturally fell into art, mixed-media and photography, getting my first camera in my early teens. From there my passion for portrait photography progressed and always felt like my calling, tying in my creative talent and love for meeting and getting to truly know new people.
