I photographed a wedding in Sorrento, Italy, it was a wonderful day on the coastline with views of the mountains, such a stunning backdrop.

Editorial, documentary, natural, emotive and artistic.

I have the highest standards, I am constantly training to improve my style, lighting and approach. I have mentored many photographers who have gone on to have successful businesses of their own. I believe in raising the standards of the industry and am proud of the work that I produce and that I have been able to carve out a distinct style, something that is difficult to achieve in wedding photography.

Plan in enough time for yourselves so that you can your day.

Delivering a few photos the next day so the couple can enjoy them on their honeymoon.

I try to be as discrete as possible. I value the couple's time so only take them for around 25-30 minutes their wedding breakfast for portraits. This gives them time to enjoy the drinks reception with their guests and by the time they go off for photos, they are ready to have some time alone together.

I love those natural shots of the couple just as they go off for portraits, these show the real chemistry between them and is a special time as often they won't have had a chance to talk to each other properly since their ceremony.

I was once asked to include some mountains in the background at an Italian wedding, The view was obscured by safety railings at the hotel, so I had the couple stand on the edge of an infinity swimming pool, I shot the image from a low angle giving a reflection of them and the mountains in the water.

I recommend bringing clear or plain umbrellas, and don't be worried about the photos as rainy day wedding photos are the best.

I discovered photography by accident, my wife is a keen photographer and I wanted to see what it was about photography that held her interest. I started using her camera and became hooked. From there I tried many different genres, I loved Landscape photography because of the beauty, calmness and technical aspects that accompanies it, however, I soon found that portraits were more my thing.

I'm a real people person and I loved being able to connect with people and tell their stories through my eyes. Weddings are all about reading people and situations and being able to anticipate moments and how best to capture. Over time I developed a skill for documentary wedding photography and I later trained on honing my portrait photography to my current.

I now shoot a mixture of both editorial style and documentary.
