Located in Headley, Hampshire, Tansley Photography is a husband-and-wife duo—Carol and Paul Tansley—who specialize in wedding photography. With over 10 years of experience capturing weddings, they combine expert skills with a genuine passion for telling your unique love story. Couples consistently praise their warm, relaxed style that helps everyone feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.
Tansley Photography focuses on a documentary, or reportage, style that highlights the real, unscripted moments of your wedding. They work quietly and unobtrusively, letting your day unfold naturally while capturing the emotions and connections between you and your guests. Alongside these candid shots, they also create a select number of group photos and elegant couple portraits, giving you a beautiful, well-rounded collection of memories.
For Carol and Paul, wedding photography is about more than just pictures—it’s about capturing the heart of your day. They focus on those intimate “in-between” moments—the small details and genuine interactions that make your wedding truly yours. Using a keen eye for light and a discreet approach, they create a timeless collection of memories you’ll treasure forever.
Every wedding has memorable moments. Spending the full day with a couple and seeing those moments, capturing them beautifully for all time is what makes the job of being a wedding photographer so special.
Real Moments, Unobtrusive, Natural, Candid, Documentary
The quality of work we produce at every wedding and the fact that we are always unobtrusive and our couples really appreciate that.
Don't judge your wedding photographer on price. Ask to see at least 3 full weddings and see if that photographer can reproduce the same style on images over and over again. On the day itself - the best thing you can do is to relax and enjoy your wedding. That makes for great images.
Couples that enjoy their wedding day and are in love.
After the initial booking, when the wedding is approaching I like to meet couples at their venue and give them a quick walkthrough of the day and what to expect of me. On the day itself, there is nothing they need to do to improve their pictures - they simply need to enjoy their wedding.
No photo is more important than any other. Great wedding photography is about a set of images - not one image. I never promise any certain image to a couple - it might not happen. First Kiss for example, I've been to weddings where they've not kissed - my job is to record what happens - I never ever pose a picture. Even couple portraits are shot in a very relaxed way. Images should be natural - not forced.
I really hope my couples don't feel the need to ask me to take any particular image. My job is to document their day - not pose it. So I'd really rather they let me make beautiful images from what I see in front of me. The one's that forget this and do ask for something - it's never original, wedding photographers have seen it all before.

Got interest in photography at a serious level at around 20 years old. At age 23 I left my office job to travel to Italy to study to become a fashion photographer at a college there. Then spent around 7 years assisting some of the world's top fashion photographers, followed by 16 years shooting my own work for UK fashion and Wedding Magazines. Started shooting weddings 14 years ago. Paul has been a professional photographer now for 29 years.
