Exquisite, emotive fine art reportage.
I photograph weddings with my wonderful other half, Michael, and we make a great team – having been through the process of planning a wedding ourselves, we both know how much of your heart and soul you will have invested into the big day, so we can proudly say that we will create and treat your precious memories with extra care and attention and make sure the images reflect how infinitely beautiful and filled with love your day is going to be…
Plan ahead to give yourselves at least a week before the wedding when you are not doing any running around - you need to go into your big day relaxed and happy, not stressed and enhausted.
I love it when couples write their own vows or pick an unusual song for their first dance... It makes a world of difference when the worlds people say to one another are not standard, but carefully written with love and care for one person and one person only.
I always offer a complimentary consultation to all couples who are considering asking me to photograph their wedding - choosing who is going to capture those priceless memories for you is a hugely important and personal decision to make, so I like to provide an opportunity for the couples to meet me and ask me any questions they have. Sometimes my consultations last for hours! But it's worth it as to me it is of paramount importance that my clients are happy with their choice and know that they are in safe hands.
There are no rules when it comes to wedding photos as your photos will always be secondary to your happiness and your marriage. So there certainly isn't a #1 most important photo, just a most important feeling. Focus on each other, take the day in and, trust me, when you get your photos back, that special image will be there, for you to cherish and keep for years to come.
I was asked by a bride to create a photo capturing the relationship between herself, her mother and her grandmother, but without showing their faces, as the Mother of the Bride was extremely camera-shy. This is when I created my 'Three Generations' photo of the hands of three women with their wedding bands on, capturing the gentle support between the three of them and the symbols of their happy marriages without making the Mother of the Bride nervous or uncomfortable. This photo is very dear to my heart and has resonated with many people around the World as it tells an important story without being obvious or intrusive.
Two things. 1) Clear umbrellas are amazing! and 2) Don't worry. There is always a Plan B in case it rains, both for your ceremony and for your photos, so don't let it dampen your spirits and remember that rain on your wedding day is considered good luck!
